But I can recommend getting a dog as a great (but more expensive) alternative!”

We have a 3 year old choc lab....and he lets any cat into our house in summer with the door open...i have lost count of the times we have found a strange cat sleeping in his bed with him.

we also have the microchip catflap...works a treat..when door is shut..lol

I've noticed the last few nights as I've been up late that two different cats, much larger than ours have been helping themselves in throgh the catflap and at our cat's food and water.

Obviously I don't want this happening!

Any advise?

I've seen them magnetic catflaps but been told they are useless so don't want to waste £40 on one.

I'm seriously thinking about camping in the bedroom window with a BB rifle and hunt the buggers down to scare them away ”

My cat would go absolutely bananas if another cat either tried to get in, or actually got in. So I'd know all about it if I was asleep at the time

Ideally, you should shut your cat in at night with a litter tray, as the night time is when most cats get injured or go missing.

It's also at dawn when they hunt the most and kill birds.”

Totally agree with this post. Although there will be times when your cat will stay outside all night. They probably won't come when you call them, although female cats will not have gone far from their territory.

Bless ~ perhaps he just likes the company! Maybe you could get him his very own kitten.

I've got a black cat & a black & white cat & my dogs recognise them & don't worry about them but next door's black & white cat is definitely not welcome in our house. Although I suspect that if she was confident & braver, the dogs would not have the guts to see her off ~ they are all bark, no bite!
