The BBC have said on Twitter

On 28th Nov, our remaining dancers will perform BRAND NEW dances NEVER DANCED COMPETITIVELY on Strictly Come Dancing before!

What do we think these might be........have the pros done a group dance this series that might be a clue.......

How exciting The only dances I can recall are the Bolero from Brian and Kristina and the Argentinia Walz from Flavia and Vincent.

I would hazard a speculation that it may be a latin based dance as if they already have an extra ballroom in Argentine Tango.

Maybe we will see the Lambada, Charleston, Lindy Hop or Bolero?? (If I heard Tess correctly on sat - the one that Brian and Kristina did)

Given the completely inexplicable popularity of Olly on XF, can we look forward to the inclusion of 'Drunk Dad Dancing' on SCD

Poor Craig, left too soon!

I have been hoping for the okeycokey and the birdie song dance - then if they keep it in next year, I have a hope in hell of getting somewhere - obviously I will have to get over the whole not actually a celebrity issue..

Wasn't an issue for Jo Wood.

Weeell, no, but she had at least married one - and I think I am out of his catchment age!

I haven't seen dancing with the stars (wrong kind of telly) but I have read on here that there are different dances - maybe we are following them - is that where the Lindy Hop idea comes from?

Hope it's not the Bolero, looks just like the Rumba to me! I reckon we'll get jitterbug and mambo or charleston will be fun!

Yes they do Lindy Hop and Mambo on DWTS but they also do lots of other mad things likes charleston and dances we already know but with a 'theme' Donny Osmond had to dance an '80s' inspired Paso and he was dressed as Adam Ant

Donny's on it !?!- oh now I am really mad that we have the wrong telly to watch it - you can bet your life if Match of the Day was only available through Sky we would change... Sorry, marital grudges entirely off topic! WOuld like to see the Lindy Hop, but not sure with all the injuries at the moment - could bea very short programme!

Interesting, looking forward to that.

What does everyone else think the distrubution of dances will work for the final few week then.

28th Nov - Week 11, will be these 2 new dances.

That leaves 2 weeks to do the 2 remaining dances of the standard 12, and the Argentine Tango. Before we have the final on the 3rd week.

I reckon it will be:

5th Dec - Week 12 (QF) - 2 remaining dances from the standard 12
12th Dec - Week 13 (SF) - Argentine Tango, plus one other repeated dance of choice
19th Dec - Week 14 (F) - Will probably be same as always, 1 ballroom, 1 latin of choice, judges choice, showdance etc..

Anyone agree or disagree?

i may be wrong but on the dancing with the stars thread someone brought up that one couple did the rumba and the next week the bolero and they both looked extremley similar, but what somone said in result to that was that the american rumba is on a faster beat where as the bolero is on a slower ?, am i wrong ? please tell.

the dances i wouldn't mind seeing are the mambo, lambada, bolero & im not sure but the charlston maybe. the only problem is that if they have more than two new dances then some of the celebs are not going to be able to do all dances.

does anyone know what week flavia and vincent done that argentine walz

Yes, the bolero is a slow rumba - this is Kristina and her former pro partner dancing in 2003.

It's supposed to be 96bpm, but as happened on DwTS, that is unlikely to be noticeable.

One question I have is, do any of the remaining pros know these suggested dances? The bolero is part of the competition dances in the US. I also think it might be risky, as for many people in this country, Bolero only means one thing - Torvill and Dean. It also features prominently in Dancing on Ice, so might get the BBC in trouble again?

I would love to see the lindyhop or Rock n' Roll personally!

The Lambeth Walk and Knees Up Mother Brown would be interesting.

Check out the Links to Watch and Read About DWTS on the DWTS sub-forum above. I've posted links to ALL the dances throughout the series there, so you can watch all Donny's dances on YouTube.

Bolero has elements of rumba, but it also has many differences. One of the main characteristics of Bolero is that it must feature rise and fall and so it's not all done with straight legs and uses completely different technique. There's also no cuban action, very little hips and elements of ballet. It's almost a combination of rumba and ballroom. There's also very specific stylings for things like arm movements.

Bolero sounds like Ali's dance to me!

I'd love to see the lindy hop or the charleston, they're both quite a long way from what we have now.

Could not be more excited about this development!
