"trying to erase Rachel from Strictly History?"
![]() ![]() Paranoia, thy name is Tyler. And as for that Rumba, on the TV series the moves might have been phwoar!, but the expression was her usual poker face. Perhaps she got better on the tour, I didn't see it. |

Why are they trying to erase Rachel from Strictly History? Maybe because she didn't have much personality, wasn't very entertaining, and had probably the biggest unfair advantage the show has ever seen? Just my opinion... |

Can't people have different opinions? I agreed with Len's statement and I anticipate some people won't have liked Lisa's dances as much, but the personal comments are just rude especially as you have never met her.

Rachel's Rhumba was in a league of its own.
I wish they'd used it instead, but I appreciate Cherie did a stylish performance too and I sense ITT are intent on promoting James at every opportunity lately (to increase his popularity maybe?). Or I could be reading too much into things.... |

I thought her Argentine Tango was the best dance of last series, and the best Argentine Tango ever danced on Strictly. Her American Smooth and Viennese Waltz were no small beer either.

Rachel being erased from Strictly history? Hardly - She regularly appears on ITT VTs. Far more than Ramprakash and Dixon too who were more popular.
She was a brilliant dancer but, as we all know, SCD is more than that and without the judges she'd have got nowhere near the final. I was going to mention one of Craig's many memorable quotes but I fear it may upset some. |

Len and Claudia couldnt re-create her rumba it would be too difficult for them. Cheries was at a nice sedate pace (I did like her too)
It would have been ironic if a newly fit Jade were to interview an injured Claudia on the sofa prior to tomorrow's show! |

Which ITT VTs has Rachel featured in? I can't remember any, yet I've seen Mark and Alesha more than once.

I was looking at the Strictly Tour website a few weeks ago and noticed that Rachel won the audience vote at virtually every show.....so she was obviously popular with punters who`d paid hard cash to see the show......I noticed that she was not featured once in Len`s Ten Commandments feature the other day
.....which did seem rather odd for someone, who judged solely on her performances and ability should have won last year.Quote:
She didnt win at the show I went to, Gethin did. He'd won twice the previous day as well.
Rachel was in the dance off twice from memory. I dont think she was that popular at all, though I agree she was much better than Lisa. Quote:
Rachel won 26 shows and was runner up in the remaining 14. She had a top two placing in 40 shows.
And please don't turn this into a Rachel bashing thread. *Sigh* |

in fact when I read OP I thought exactly the same thing I was supporting her that year (no-one else to support) but I can only remember the AT and rumba, she wasn't that memorable although 'good' |

Given that it looks like each Masterclass is going to feature a 'memorable' version of the dance, isn't it just possible that Rachel is lined up for something like the AT?

I know she did not win, but would she make a better judge than Alesha ?

And as for Rachel not appearing on the VTs, I feel they are waiting for a tango masterclass as her's was the best ever. |

she was absolutely nothing on lisa...lisa had the wow factor and should have won.
rachel bored the pants off me. at least people had a vocal opinion on lisa, instead of completely disregarding her. as for her rumba...the dance of romance...well if my girlfriend had her expression i would seriously be worried! |

I could actually imagine Rachel sat on the judging panel, but she would get even more backlash than Alesha.
I didn't paticularly have an opinion on Lisa but since the glorious *gasp in awe* Rachel is being challenged I feel the need to step in. Lisa Snowdon was one of the most overmarked celebs in the history of strictly. Rachel was one of the BEST BEST BEST dancers in Strictly history. Lisa couldn't dance Latin to save her life, I admit to her Ballroom excellance but was never good at Latin. The Showdance sealed it all. Rachel was a FAR FAR superior dancer. |

As for Len not liking 'raunchy' - he liked it enough to awared 10's twice. |

I could have accepted John Sergeant as a better winner than Tom Chambers. And nobody dare tell me the Show Dance won him the competition, it was obvious Tom was going to win whether he performed that dance or not. Heck! He could have writhed around like Lisa Snowdon for 90seconds and still taken the trophy.
Rachel should have won, she was the best dancer. Lisa could have won, she was good at Ballroom and had a 'journey'. Austin could have won, he was very good and consistent all round. Tom could have... *thinks deeply*... *thinking, thinking*... Nope, nothing! |

lisas showdance didnt count for anything though. as she was already out at that point. i am sure you will agree that it should have done and mr stumble should have gone out.

If Alesha didn't score a perfect 40 how on earth did she score three? I won't begrudge any of her Ballroom dances as they were all superb but the Cha Cha Cha was going too far. The Cha Cha Cha was actually one of my favourite dances, but it was not 40 material. |
