Can I check: are you saying the you have successfully used Flash9200 on Windows 7? If so that would be the first report and I will update the web site. Is it a 32 bit or 64 bit version of Windows 7?

It won't be automatic, you'll have to go into Manual Update and select the UHF channel that your MUXB is on.

This is how Humax are getting over that there are no DTG slots left this month.

Surely you can do an Automatic Search for software and the Hummy will find it on muxB.

Pretty sure it only checks mux 1 which is always used for OTA upgrades as it's one mux that anyone should be able to access even from freeview lite relays.

Hi Les,

You could be right, but that was what I had been led to believe.

I haven't done an OTA on this box before, I used the PC route previously, but Win7 conspires to not let me do this with my USB/Serial Converter, whereas it worked perfectly under XP.

I can't test the OTA as I have the 9300.

Happy to bow to your greater experience, if this is how it will work.

Rgds.

I think you are thinking of Regular Auto Update rather than Automatic Search which checks all muxs, as opposed to a Manual Search which checks your selected mux. It wouldn't surprise me if Regular Auto Update also checked all muxs otherwise how would machines know about this download if their owners didn't read the forums.

Well I think I'm right. fingers crossed hee hee.

It's rather like the tuning menus, Automatic Search searches all muxs and Manuals Search just searches your selected mux.

We now need a 9150 owner to give us the lowdown

Hopefully as people start to get home from work, we will start seeing some reports.

Steve,

Can I ask, did you do this with a Serial port on your PC, or did you have to use a USB to Serial Converter Cable? If the latter, which driver did you get to work on Win7?

Thanks.

Surely, it has to be automatic. Otherwise how would the vast majority of non forum visiting owners get updated, or even know anything about it?

Tomorrow will tell....

I expect that Humax software developers work the same as all other software developers so the code will be developed on the current source code first and then backported to older releases afterwards.

Done an automatic scan...nothing.
Done a manual scan on MuxB...nothing.
Tried manual scans on all six muxes...still nothing.
The only thought that occurred...we have no channels transmitting on MuxB (the HD mux) down here. Would that be the problem?
PS: I've just noticed this!:

Yes, it's already been stated that post-DSO regions that don't have MuxB, will have to wait until it has a slot for OTA on Mux1, or the PC Route.

Do an Auto and Manual search on your own machine, see the difference in time taken to complete the search.

Les

Serial port so no driver needed.

I've just done the manual update on my 9150. Funnily enough I'd hardly had any lockups until the last few days when it started happening daily or more. Hopefully the update will sort this out. I haven't done the recommended reset to default settings as I didn't particularly want to lose my recording schedule, but if the update doesn't stop the lockups I guess I'll have to try that as well.

Ok, thanks for replying, anyway.

win7 on a legacy machine - impressed. I haven't seen a serial port on a PC for ages.

Well, it's half way through "tomorrow", has nobody's 9150 got the OTA update?

Hello,

I updated my 9300 using my Windows 7 laptop with Usb to serial converter and WDN40AK and also 2 9150's without any problems at the weekend, can dig out the driver details for the cable (£2.30 from ebay bargin) if it helps anyone having a problem?
Not had any lock-ups since on any of the machines.

Cheers

Yes please, I would like to know which driver worked, and a link if you have one.

Thanks.

Les.
