Ah thanks Graham.

So now we know that manually invoking Automatic Update (if that isn't a contradiction in terms ) works, but to Big-les's point, we still don't know whether Regular Auto Update works by searching all MUXs, allowing people's boxes to get this on MuxB, without intervention, overnight.

Despite doing the software update as described, I just get the message "no new software found", (9150T).

Could this have been done automatically overnight? If so how would I know?

This one seems to indicate auto update works:

Yes, I've just seen that addition to the thread - good news!!

So, really, apart from post-DSO areas, there is no practical difference between a DTG scheduled Mux1 OTA, and these special "unscheduled" MuxB updates?

Menu > System > Status.

Software Version should be 1.00.17 for the new 9150 update.

Any idea when OTA update for 9300 will be available?

No, not yet.

I would imagine they'd give the 9150 at least 2/3 days to get most boxes overnight, then hopefully the 9300 - but I don't have any information.

Yes it would have been short sighted to program the Regular Auto Update to just look at multiplex 1.

Thanks for that, in that window it states; - HPTTF 1.00.17 and "update date Nov 12 2009".

Have I had the update or 12 days and not known?

No, that's the date that the release version would have been cut or compiled, not the date your box updates.

Turned the 9150T on at lunchtime. Got a message to say a new update was ready, and to reset to defaults. Did so, it performed a full channel scan and ran through the set-up procedure without any trouble. We then just had to reset our display format and power-saving preferences, and it was all done.

The worst bit was having to reset all our scheduled recordings.

We did get the "network change" pop-up, and I really hope we're not going to be subjected to that every time we bring it out of standby. I have unpleasant memories of pop-ups on the Thomson TUTV box which caused the wretched thing to freeze at frequent intervals....

Although not listed this came down last night.
So far no lock ups.
It advised a default setting which I did but still prompted for it all again once started saying new channels had been found.

Been to sort out my mother's almost new box this afternoon. It hadn't updated overnight. Did an automatic software search and it found it and installed fine. No pop-ups at startup. I guess you get the pop-ups if you've channels in the 800's.

Same here. Thus far, no problems. We'll see if it stops the locking up we've had on a daily basis for weeks.

does anyone know what this new update will bring? or is it simply just to make the unit more stable? thanks

Now that would be a good reason to have the pop-up, can anyone confirm if this is the condition when the pop-up appears?

I agree entirely. The sooner this is confirmed the better.
There must be quite a few out there who have updated.

I Did a Friends 9150T on Saturday and the pop-up appeared after an automatic scan and also after a manual scan with nothing in the 800's!

Seems a little strange to me that some are reporting no pop-ups but others are reporting constant pop-ups!

It appears after it has been in standby.

Have you placed the box in standby yet?

Are you receiving from a pre, mid of post DSO transmitter?

It would be interesting to find out what is causing constant pop-ups on some but not others.

To add another data point...

I updated my 9150 by serial link. I got no prompts to reset to default or retune, so haven't done so. I was relieved not to have to rebuild the favourites list or recording schedule.

Winter Hill transmitter - was manually tuned excluding MuxB - no channels in the 800s.

I have never seen the infamous pop-up.

Have used the 9200t since 2005 with no probs whatsoever.

Just as a matter of interest is the last software update for the 9200 v1.00.21 , the fact that HUMAX still supports this old equipment speaks volumes.
