Just bought the Foxsat and am trying to set it up to record Children in Need tonight, but although not currently in the schedule page, when I try to record it either as a single program or series record, it throws up an conflict error saying that I am trying to record the same program from 3 different regions, which I am not trying to do.

I'm in the London region so trying to record from BBC1 London, but it will only let me record from either Scotland or Wales.

I have set my Postcode etc

Other programs have not been affected

Is this a known issue ?

That seems like a pretty serious flaw, and from experience of Humax Freeview, they don't seem to give updates very oftem.

Dam !

Set it up on Ch108 BBC HD, you won't get a conflict.

This is Freesat/BBC to fix with their coding of regional programmes. The way they do it caused regional series links to fail previously. Humax have fixed this at their end, but the BBC still need to sort out their coding to prevent these false clashes.

I wonder if they are trying to, viz their messing about with the Prog CRIDs recently, but they're still making a horlicks of it.

Rgds.

It's not Humax's fault it's the BBC's they have a habit of coding some programmes (especially regional news) with only a series crid and no prog crid. The previous firmware gave unpredictable results with this non standard codeing so Humax changed the firmware to work with just a series crid, result is that if the Beeb omits the prog crid and use just a series crid and this is repeated on different regions the hdr correctly identifies this as a recording clash. You can

1 Complain vociferously to the Beeb about this stupid practice
2 Delete all the alternative regions (Very poor option for single cable users)
3 Set the recordings as a one off AR event

Just checked in this case there is series and prog crid it's as les says.

Your best bet is to press the schedule button and then the yellow button and select the blank schedule (press the up cursor button as a quick jump to the bottum of the existing list) now press yellow and enter the details for the two airings of tonights CIN.

GC you can set them as one off recordings no problem. See above post.

Sorry I'm going to hijack this thread as the main topic has been covered. After checking the function of the CIN recording clash, I checked my schedule and I have eleven identical events of 'Yoko! Jakamoko! Toto!' dated 19/01 at 3:14 to 3:14

Sounds like you set a recording from the epg after the firmware update and then edited it.

That date/time is as a result of editing an EPG schedule. But 11 of them?

Was this as a result of trying to edit one, appearing unsuccessful, and playing around with it some more?

Rgds.

Graham, Les I haven't even created a recording lately let alone edited one. Though I was trying the point in another thread where the OP wanted to record from another channel from the epg while still watching the original channel, it may have been that although I can't replicate it again, but eleven events seems a strange bug.

It will record from the BBC HD channel, no region, CIN isn't a regional programme in that respect.

Or am I misunderstanding your question?

Rgds.

Ah, I didn't know that. Then I imagine, but only a guess, that the regional opt-in will be from London.

I also noted today when trying to set the box to record from Zone Horror (138) for example "The Dead Zone" on at 14:00 ~ 15:00 that it also marks the same episode on the +1 channel to be recorded at 15:00 ~ 16:00

Seems to happen with all their programs BTW.

Is this a Zone Horror issue or a HDR issue or both?

Dead Zone has no Prog CRID, only Series, and it is the same as the one on the +1. So the box does not know it is a repeat episode.

Broadcaster issue.

I noticed something similar on CH5, I set it to record The Gadget Program Monday on series link and it's included the repeat program on Saturday

this is a quite well known one amongst regular DSers, for some it doesn't materalise for others it's a real pain in the bum and for the rest me included it can actually be intermittent. when I first set the reservation it included the saturday schedule, I believe after a regular freesat rescan it cured it briefly but it has since returned to including saturday again.

Not quite sure how this is going to help !. Whatever postcode you use it won't change channel 5 or the Zone Horror channels. (Only what channels you get at 101, 102 and 103).

A follow on, had tonights CIN Pt1 one on a one off recording following a series recording of Are You An Egghead. Was watching freeview up to about 19:10 and then switched to the hdr to view CIN in chasing playback. I was greeted by a conflict clash message detailing a clash between Are You An Egghead which disappeared. Went into the media list expecting to find CIN Pt1 possibly missing a bit at the beginning, no sign of it. Then looked at the the display it's still recording Eggheads and sure enough CIN is on the end of the Eggheads recording. Will it continue recording to the end of part 1 ?

So what happened with both of those recordings, Graham?
