Optical Splitter, Will This Do??
Hi
I'm looking at connecting my Panasonic TX-P50V10B and PS3 to my Panasonic SC-BT200. I already have one of the optical connections on the SC-BT200 used for Sky HD. Will the optical splitter in the link below do the job? http://www.memoryforless.co.uk/store...l#38494X125689 Thanks Baz |

The clue is in the name. SPLITTER not COMBINER.
An Optical Splitter is primarily designed to take a single output signal and split it two ways to fed two separate inputs. It can be used in reverse to take two output signals to feed one input but that is not ideal and is prone to problems. The biggest being that if you have two live optical feeds connected at the same time they will interfere with each other. A switch overcomes that problem by only allowing one source output to connect through to the destination input at a time. All the other source outputs do is shine their lasers into nothingness. Always best to use the proper tool for the job. So they keep telling me
