They do this a lot to different degrees (and to be fair, not only the Beeb).

As soon as they find someone who appears popular with the public, they give them a zillion pound cheque and then start hunting around for a 'vehicle for their talents'.
And if they can't find a new 'vehicle', they shoehorn them into any available slot (Titchmarsh doing the Proms??? Puhleease!!).

The end result is that the offending 'personlity' is rarely off our screens and we get sick of them.

Alesha might not be my favourite judge but I have actually agreed with her on quite a few occasions. My problem is that she'll say things with such a face on her, like there's a bad smell, or she's personally affronted or she's disgusted with someone just because they're not such good dancers as some of the others and, is it my imagination, or is she often pointing her pen at people nowadays?
