That time of the week again .

Natalie and Vincent : Samba
Ricky and Natalie : American Smooth
Laila and Anton : Waltz
Ricky and Erin : Tango
Chris and Ola : Viennese Waltz
Jade and Ian : Tango

This time last year we had Rachel's Foxtrot, Austin's Tango and Rachel's Rumba the week before.

I wonder if there are any real contendors to wow us this week..

Ali and Brian : Foxtrot - should be excellent (she still bores me rigid)
Natalie and Vincent : Samba - I like these two so I'm prejudiced
Ricky and Natalie : American Smooth - should be fab (they are just not my cup of tea though)
Laila and Anton : Waltz - yawn, even though Anton is a master
Ricky and Erin : Tango - I like them and I like the tango a lot
Chris and Ola : Viennese Waltz - please let them be good!
Jade and Ian : Tango - hope it happens, really hope it happens...

I agree with almost all of this, except that I think Ricky & Erin are ok.

It's so wrong that I wish half the weekend away because I'm excited about Strictly!

I wasn't wowed by Austin's tango; tbh quite the reverse - but I don't think anyone this year has yet reached the standard of Rachel and Vincent.

I'm going to miss most of tonight's show - I'm going to an all-night, twelve hour writeathon - so I'll have to iPlayer it up at some point. Arg!

Rachel was terrific from the start, but after the first of her two dance offs she came back fighting and really moved up a gear with her performance, I thought. I'm not feeling particuarly wowed by the two front runners this year I'm afraid.

This pretty much echoes my thoughts. I really would like Natalie and Chris to do well tonight - Natalie because she's the only dancer doing latin, and it's a difficult one, and Chris because I really didn't like his paso last week (sort of agreed with Craig and Bruno ), and want him to be better this week. Want both to have a couple more weeks in the show.

Regarding Jade, my possible theory:

Tonight if she still isn't fit enough to dance but seems as though she'll be fine for next week, couldn't they do what they've done on DWTS in the past and judge on the dress run? We know that the injury only accured at the very end of the routine and from the clips we've seen looked up to scratch IMO.

Therefore, hoping that the pre-recorded Tango got her through she'd have enough time to prepare for the Rumba next week or which ever dance they're up to (is it time for two dances next week?)

Hi Zan

You have to write constantly for 12 hours? About what?

I'm not sure SCDancing, but I thought the rule is that a couple can only miss one performance through doctor's orders, not two?

Hey Sid!

Oh, I don't *have* to write constantly, there are drinks and snacks provided! It's for people who are writing their novels in this area. It means I should finish my 50,000 in the early hours tomorrow!

Hi Zan and Sid! Hugs to ya!

Zan - I will also be missing tonight's show

It's the last night of a play I'm in - I've missed a few strictly's recently - from next week however, I'm in full time!

Hey Mama!

What's the play? That's quite exciting, though!

I won't be fully full time again until December - even if I finish the word count tomorrow morning, I might not actually have finished my story and I'll need to keep writing!

I shall be at the front of the line during your book signing

I suppose, it's whether at least a dance being submitted for them (live on the night or not) would count. At this late stage, after a week of no training they'd need at least a few hours to go through it a few times as a recap of the routine so I doubt it would be up to scratch.

It seems as though all we can do is wait

Same, and not looking forward to it being up to Tess/Bruce to tell us their fate in the competition. If it is bad news () I hope it's Claudia backstage again talking to her instead.

This faltering series really needs a good show tonight...and making a meal of / obsessing over Jade's injury will not help.

EDIT: ...or Laila's injury for that matter.

Well at least we will find out quite early on, because they will announce her in the couples introductions or not wont they?

I am a bit cheesed off its been dragged on this long though, boo.

I know, which is why I wish a decision could have been made yesterday, so that we could go into tonight's show with a bit more postivity.

I presume they'll reveal it like last week when she is either there or not there during the opening introduction bit.

It's a play by a local writer - I'm really enjoying it! I don't like to blow our own trumpet but we won a few awards with the play in a recent festival. What kind of fiction do you write Zan?

Go for it drbolognaise! I'd had a bit of a break myself before I joined this group - and I'm loving it! Despite missing Strictly!
