John Lewis have a Powerplus Rhino wind up radio which I'm thinking of getting someone as a Christmas. Anybody got one of these?

not this make. Have a Freeplay Ranger (FM-AM). Its a 3 way power system. You can run it by mains adaptor, built in solar panel, or wind the handle.

The solar panel works, but only in direct sunlight.

Its a heavy thing too, even though its not very big.

Sound and tuning is quite poor quality, and the sound fades as the power runs out!
