Cheers for the link Sid.

Personally I think she seems a genuine enough, beautiful woman. And she reads historical biographies, now I love her even more.

For me Laila wins the 'personality' contest this year quite comfortably.

Unfortunately she's way behind in the dance contest.

Yes that about sums it up for me too!

Fascinating woman, but hasn't quite lived up to expectations where her dancing is concerned (although she's still very good).

Thanks Sid, it was a good article. I did feel sorry for her when she said how guarded she is in relationships after being hurt in the past. I can understand where she's coming from but she's potentially missing out on a great love if she's too afraid to give it her all.

Hi DrB

Yes that was very sad what Laila said there.

Overall, I do think she does come across as a little bit 'hard' - maybe that's because of her East End upbringing or because she's been hurt in the past - but I do think there's a soft, tender person behind that front and I wish we could see it more.

Thanks for the link sweetie! <smooooch!>
You're very welcome Buddy <smmoch!> x

Not 100% sure but I don't think she's been split up from her husband for very long so I dunno if that comment might come from that place you find yourself in after a long-term split.

(obviously I'm not privvy to owt and she might have kicked him into touch and be living it large, just speculating or projecting...or something )

Anyhoo...she seems to have had a very interesting and varied life thus far.

You do know strictly is one of the biggest shows in the UK.
All the celebs get a lot of press when they are on strictly. Maybe they should live like hermits and not talk to the press.

I really don't understand the cynical spin that seems to be put on everything.

Of course the stars of Strictly are going to be in the papers whilst the series is running - it's a prime time show.

She would have done better if she'd been paired with someone other than Anton. His Ballroom is superb but his Latin isn't up to the standard of the other pros. It's a pity she hasn't been ab;e to put in more practice on the waltz as it could have been one of her best dances.

Yes I agree with you.

Laila's an exotic, sultry lady. And she was mismatched when paired with a bit of goofy pro who hasn't got the best out of her in Latin as he has in the Ballroom - and you can't help but think that its his own limitations in that area which has impeded them.

Still, they've got further than I thought and there is a genuine closeness there despite the rocky start.

Easy with the goofy now

Poor Anton he was compared to a soggy Yorkshire pudding in one thread (he came off worse) and now he's goofy!!

I do agree on the Laila part though you'll get no arguments from me there!
I wonder if she'll be on Hole in the Wall next year?..

lol!

And they were ridiculing him on the ITT panel as well, bless him.

But they do have a point. Anton's got this comedy face and this persona that just don't lend themselves to the slick and sexy Latin rythyms.

His Ballroom is pure class though. Can't take that away from him.

And in any serious poll on what women find most attractive in a man - a sense of humour is always at or near the top.

True - but a sense of humour doesn't really sex up a Salsa!
