Good result yesterday. I am a Shane Long fan, but I think Lukaku is going to have to start next week. We looked a different side when he came on and I think he deserves a chance to start.

It will be interesting to see what our gameplan will be this season if we go behind early in a match.

Apart from cover at left-back (which I expect we'll correct before the end of the week) I think we have a very competitive squad for this season. We've kept all our major players from last season, except for perhaps Scharner who we have replaced with Yacob, who I think is going to be a big performer this season.

Yacob...great signing

Lukaku, a great bit of business.

We do appear to have an abundance of strikers.

It's disappointing that Dan Ashworth now seems to be on his way to a job with the FA. The whole structure of the club seems to built around his role, and the change of personnel in that role could have a bigger impact than changing the head coach. Hopefully we've got a contingency and shortlist in place.

Let's hope he can stop till next weekend. I certainly wouldn't blame him for taking the job.

Yep, good win. I was a little concerned after after making 10 changes and with how well Yeovil had started the season, but it was a good result. I wonder if the fact that Long started is a sign that Lukaku will start on Saturday?

Was Thomas injured? I wouldn't be surprised to see him move before the deadline.

According to the club he has been injured for the last 3 weeks.

What an amazing win today. As I live in the shadow of The Hawthorns I always like it when WBA do well except when they beat Liverpool .

But I think its safe to say WBA are the Midlands premier team.

May it continue.

Remember Wolves took 7 points from their opening three games and still ended up relegated.

Against worse opposition though

Everything looks good at the moment. Defence looks pretty solid, Yacob is quickly becoming my favourite player, doing a great job sitting in front of the defence. He and Mulumbu kept Felliani really quiet. Our tactics seem really spot on and Clarke seems to know what subs to make and when. Bit of a shame that there's a break now.

Next game could define our season. With all respect to Reading, this is the type of game that we need to win.

A win is a win although I would have liked a more convincing scoreline.

We are now back in an AUTOMATIC Champions League position

Having dropped two ponts at The Villa

we need to win well next week as we then have two tough games to follow

Job done, apart from two goals conceded
as we then have two tough games to follow
The last time we went into an international break we lost the next game. Could easily happen again but if we win the games we should be winning we will be OK.

Performance wasn't as good previous home games, but still picked up the win. Good stuff. Thought the first goal was really good, great cross from Long and a lovely header from Morrison.

Being critical, I'm not sure why we brought Long and Odemwingie off for Lukaku and Rosenberg. For the last 15 minutes, we needed someone up front who could hold on to the ball and relieve the pressure on the defence, and Long is the man for that. We did the same at Villa and it was all Villa after that and we got punished for it, and the same nearly happened here. It's alright bringing Lukaku on when chasing the game like at Spurs, but it doesn't make sense to me with a one goal lead.

Great news that Olsson signed a new deal, the defence always looks so much weaker when he's not playing. It's a shame we didn't sign another right back in the Summer, I like Reid but he's always going to miss half a season through injury and I don't think any of Jones, Tamas and Jara are good enough as cover. Popov played well at Villa, and was solid enough yesterday, think I'd still go with Ridgewell when fit though.

Agreed but I am loath to criticise Clarke at the moment

I always get the impression that Jones could concede a penalty

Albion unlucky to lose a competitive game.

However, we are still on course

NB. Listening to the pundits on match of the day, I would be excused for thinking that Man City were playing themselves.

Two weeks running we lose the game very late on, this time with a fluke.

I am pleased that we are really competing but the next game has to be a win

Job done with a clean sheet as well

Hoping for a point at least at Wigan

It's sad when you have to quote your own posts

A nice win for the Baggies and after 11 games we are halfway to safety, although the way the bottom 3 are going, 40 points will be more than enough

Anything more than 2 points from the next 3 games will be a bonus

To the few Baggies fans on here, I apologise for being pesimistic
