I like Michael Palin's score prediction this week, 8-1

www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/24338311

Anyone old enough to remember his Ripping Yarns will get it.

Doing a bit of research on the former WBA manager Vic Buckingham. He was at the club between 1953 and 1959. Winning the FA Cup in 1954, narrowly missing out on the league title the same season, and with it the chance of being the first club of the 20th century to complete the league and cup double.

Any insights from older Baggies fans, or from any that generally have a good grasp of the clubs history would be greatly appreciated. Private messages more than welcome. Many thanks.

The general feeling was that The Baggies blew it. At the beginning of April, The Baggies had a 2 point advantage ( One win ) In April they only gained 3 points from 6 games and Wolves gained 9.

Some say it was the pressure of the cup run. My dad put it down to loosing first choice goalkeeper Norman Heath in the last game of March ( another game that was lost ). He never played again.

and we did. Like the manager said, it's the result that counts.

9 games to go this year and I am hopeful of another 12 points.

Ambitious or what?

Absolute shambles of a decision, robbed of 3 points in what was even debateable stoppage time, where did those 4 mins come from?.

I guarantee if that was other end, no way would it of been given.

So angry right now

Good to see Vydra having an impact.

George Thorne has played quite well for us in midfield

Albion have a new manager. It's good that Downing is fluent in Spanish.

It appears that he can speak a bit of English and he has made a reasonable start.

8 days ago, I wanted 4 points from the next two games. We got the points but not in the way I expected.

6 games left. 2 wins needed.

You won;t need 2 wins. - probably not even 1.

Norwich have a dire set of fixtires left. Fulham may look winnable to you but we have a dire record against them.

Sunderland have got difficult games left.
Cardiff look doomed.
Fulham may get some points yet but they're a long way behind (as are all the bottom 3).
