South By South West Festival
Radio2 and 6Music are covering the South By South West Music Festival this week. Its absolutely huge and is apparently a good way of discovering new artists. Details of the radio coverage are here:
http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio2/events/s.../whatson.shtml Also, if you're interested you must check out the official site. Its brilliant because you can download or stream songs from many of the artists who are performing. Go here and click on the "Bands" link on the right: http://www.sxsw.com/ May be people could report back if they discover something which sounds good?

OK I'll go first then
. Here are some new (or not very well known) bands playing at the festival which I quite like the sound of. The first 2 are British and the rest are American. See what you think. You can stream the songs in your mp3 player (e.g. Winamp) or download them by clicking on the links below. Hopefully we'll get to hear more from some of these on the BBC's coverage. Thirteen Senses - "Thru The Glass" - stream or download Excellent song. Think Starsailor (on a very good day). The Veils - "The Wild Son" - stream or download Lead singer has quite a distinctive voice. Definitely worth a listen. The Go - "American Pig" - stream or download Good old-fashioned Rock 'n' Roll and a catchy song. The Shore - "The Hard Road" - stream or download An American band that sound like a Manchester indie band. I like it. Monarch - "Turn Around" - stream or download I like this song and the lead singer's voice. Irving - "I Can't Fall In Love" - stream or download Kinda lo-fi...a bit like Pavement. The Kick - "Gold" - stream or download No nonsense Rock "n" Roll. Aah go on. Must be something there you like?
