Yes, and I believe George Michael week was chosen in order to showcase Joe. It was always going to suit his voice and style far more than anyone else's.
Danyl has performed twice as well. The only act not to perform last has been Lloyd.
When it gets to this stage of the show there is bound to be people who have closed the show more than once.

I think Joe is being put on last because the producers know he can be relied upon to give a decent performance, and therefore to leave viewers with a relatively pleasant impression at the end of the show.
I suspect he isn't getting as many votes as they would like. The studio audience seem far more excited about Olly and Stacey.

No from what I remember Joe has never been on before Lloyd.

Olly closed the show with Come Together I think.
Joe opened the show that week ^ and Lloyd was on 4th or 5th.

He was the first one of the boys on in Week 2 and was on first in Week 4.

Yes he did. Just had a look.
So it's only Lloyd who hasn't closed the show. If he's there next week, it should be him, but it won't.
It'll be the twins or Stacey IMO.

I think he's been first once, mostly late-middle-ish.

YOu could well be right there I have often wondered about the votes with regards to Joe.
Stacey next week she hasn't closed since week 2 and if both are here next week either The Twins of Danyl should open

If anything Stacey is the chosen one since Simon has already said that if it can't be one of his acts he wants Stacie to win.
Joe is pretty much ignored by both the press and the Xtra Factor audience. Last night he got a brief mention at the start of the show before it all went back to JEdward, Danyl and Olly centric.
If Joe wins this it's not cause hes Simons 'chosen one'
At least he has opened a show.

You could probably say that about any theme they pick. Joe is the best and most consistent singer there. It doesn't matter whether it's rock week or George Michael week, he always turns in a good performance.

Well, if it was a singer with a deep voice - say, Barry White - or a gravelly voice - say, Joe Cocker - it wouldn't favour Joe. However, for some peculiar reason most male singers these days seem to have high voices, so that's not likely to happen any time soon, I guess.
I think if LLyod stays he should close the show and the twins should open the show as they have alway been in the last 4 unlike the others who have been in the opening 3.
They try and structure the show kinda like a concert, always start the show with an uptempo, something fun to get the crowd going and end with big performance, normally a ballard and usually the best performance of the night.
