Little Boots, Could She Be Reveloutionary?
Little Boots (Aka Victoria Hesketh) has so far released 3 singles, "New In Town" (UK: 13) and "Remedy" (UK: 6) have both had good trajectory. Unfortunatly it dosent look good for new single "Earthquake" which is suprising. The album Hands has also not done aswell as i'd thought it would do.
However i think this is because they are mostly okay tracks but little standout tracks. Now i think if on Little Boots second follow up album she put a more electro, pop, dance sound she could turn into one of the most reveloutionay artists of the 21st Centruary... What Do You Think? |

Revolutionary my arse!
She's shite!! I've seen her live on a few occasions and she has zero stage presence and her vocal aren't much cop either. |

seeing as almost everything she does is a piss-poor kate bush rip-off with some added keyboard sounds... no. not for me.

Are you serious? I had the misfortune to hear her on CIN last night she was dreadful. actually dreadful is being kind. There was nothing to her.

She won't be getting another album if things continue the way they are going.

She's just another one to jump on the current bandwagon of female singer pop with slight electro elements.
She'll be dropped this time in a couple of years, of not sooner. She doesn't have it in her to be revolutionary. She is doing what everyone else is doing. There is nothing unique about her. |

I do admit sometimes she can be quite bad in some live performances, but at Glastonburry she was fantastic, i was their, she performed vocals greatly and she kept a good vibe throughout the room. and tbh not many people care about live performances, if they do no one would buy La Roux, or Tinchy Stryder, both have great albums but arent great live, no one really gives two about live performances now adays, they just care about the final track, as long as tracks are fresh, catchy and have a good beat.
People do care about the quality of the live act they've gone to see. As Boots has no stage presence whatsoever she just doesn't cut the mustard live! |

Oh, I don't know. She's quite good and has some potential in her. Her album was good, favourite tracks for me being Remedy, Symmetry, Click, Ghost, Meddle and Stuck on Repeat. Earthquake probably isn't doing so well 'cause of all the X-Factor related songs in the charts (Alexandra Burke, JLS etc). Remedy was her best song and my current favourite (listen to it at least 5-10 times a week, if not more!)

Whilst not particularly revolutionary, Little Boots gets a lot more flack than deserved. I'll agree sometimes her live performances are questionable but Hands is a fantastic album.
Alongside Florence and the Machines album I'd say its one of my best purchases this year. The tracks work by themselves but also cohere into a solid and coherent piece of art, which can and should be listened to as a whole (something the Alexandra Burkes of the current X Factor, no talent scene fail to do). |

The album was solid enough however some posters on here are correct - she doesn't have any stage presence and her live vocals are poor. The eletro-pop market is already packed full with much stronger acts so she isn't standing out i'm afraid.

I went to see her the other month at her own gig and she was good, not sure where you lot have been seeing but she was good live in my view. She was good with the crowd interacting with them and getting them going during her faster songs.

I like her, not got her album yet though. I expect it will go Platinum which is all that really matters. I don’t know why Earthquake isn’t doing that well but lack of promotion may have something to do with it; I’ve only actually seen her perform it on Loose Women. Maybe her second album will do better.

Vastly overrated imho. She isn't doing anything that hasn't been heard before.

Revolutionary... are you serious?!
![]() I'm not here to just slag off other people's taste in music, but if they think pop acts like Little Boots are in any way revolutionary, it's pretty funny. I wonder what you'd think if you listened to something that actually was in any way, avant garde

having an album that performed fairly well but hasn't lived up to the hype, and appearing to be sometimes "good" and sometimes "poor" at live shows is all well and good if you're a fan but it doesn't make someone "revolutionary", which was the original question.

Shes the best of the new electro girls... Has Gaga written/released a song beter than 'Stuck on Repeat'? Talent doesnt = popularity enough.

In terms of british electro, I would say she is my fav newbie. I like her album and it's a personal fav in my top albums of this year.

I liked new in town, it was a pleasant enough song, but Remedy was dire.
I saw her live and she reminds me of Victoria Wood singing, except at least Victoria Wood is trying to be funny. |

New In Town was brilliant - she quickly crashed and burned after that.

I agree, she's nothing special, and is going off the radar pretty quickly.
