So glad I'm not the only one who thought Erin's dress was hideous last night, I too didn't see any of Ricky's mistakes because of the fright that was Erin (dress and hair I mean).

Also agree that Natalies samba dress did her no favours at all - awful clashing colours and nothing really to give it any life of it's own to help accentuate what little bounce she managed to put into the routine.

Hideous both of them!

The BBC wardrobe department pick on someone every week.

Many times it's Tess. Several weeks this series it's been Flavia. Clearly Erin has now incurred their wrath. And now that she's gone, let's see who they pick on next...

Tess's dress was awful. Out of all the vast resources of the BBC they find a colour that scientifically doesn't even exist and they make a dress out of it. Why? She goes home on a Monday and Vernon asks what she's wearing for the show and she says: "Gristle with a hint of sinew."

Erin's was beyond bad and careering into the realms of disgrace/disaster/catastrophe. Put your lady-bits AWAY, madame! Two melons in an old sock.

"How about we ask an Afghan Hound to get into a washing machine with an Edwardian and Calamity Jane, and chuck in some Dylon?"
"That could work."

I don't think I've ever seen a dress quite like it on SCD - a new low.

Ola's dress was to die for
Natalie C looked great in her costume - except there was a white strip hanging down, which I can only guess originally had the long fluffy tail attached that it was supposed to have
Natalie W's dress would have been simply stunning of it didn't have the see through skirt
Ali's dress was beautiful, especially the back and the skirt - fab for the swirly bits
Laila's dress was gorgeous - I love that style for the Waltz & the VW
I'm pretty sure Tess isn't dressed by the wardrobe team - I think she chooses her own dresses (at the BBC's expense I guess!) for the show. What does that say?

For me it wasn't one of, it was THE worst dress in strictly history.

I actually can't believe Erin agreed to wear it. I don't even have the words to describe how completely hideous it was!

"Yeah, we have a truck load that we bought for Laila and with her injury we're worried she might pull out and we'll have it left over."

More like :
Dress Designers : Hmm, what awful outfit shall we make Erin wear this week ? I'm thinking some sickly purple number with lots of fringing every where, in a really unflattering style ?
Hairstylists : Sounds hideous...fantastic !! And lets do something awful with her hair as well because we hate her THAT much. Hmm....lets make it curly because we've seen from the past it doesn't suit her.
Dress Designers : Sounds awful...We're sorted. Let's hope she's still in next week so we can make her wear a bin liner.

Poor Erin.

My jaw dropped as she (and they) went down the stairs in the intro ... saw the fringe later.

I agree; I think erin was happy to wear teh dress . None of them are told specifically what to wear , though as the series progresses dresses prepared for eliminated dancers are often used for others .
Erin has always used DSI I think and many SCD costumes have also been made by Chrisanne . Now DSI make many too and as with Chrisanne , they can be seen for sale on the website .

Or in that frock, boob's your uncle.

War Drobe say they are basing this year's costumes on the 70s and 80s. Erin clearly came dresssed as a tribute to that seminal 70s film, Car Wash. In the title role, obviously.

I thought myself it was a tribute to the muppet show , it looked like big bird had had a bad dye job!

really set a new standard for Oh My God what IS she wearing , I wonder what Hilary the fashion lady would have to say about it !

Judging from how she looks on ITT, Hilary probably designed it

I think you're probably right!

Horrible dress, made worse by the fact that Erin has always been so beautifully dressed in the past when she has danced the tango.

AWFUL.”

Too true. That dress was dreadful.

Only possible reason for it was that the Beeb are saving money where they can - so they took ALL the bits that had been cut out of ALL of Ola's dresses and stuck them together

Dunno about that, all that I can say is "Another big hand for Erin's cleavage"

I knew there would have to be a thread about the dress sooner or later. It was absolutely hideous and the keyhole at the front looked incredibly vulgar. And to cap it all they didn't even put the back on it.

Just to add to the effect they made sure Ricky's tie picked out the clashing red colour.

Ali's dress was lovely from the front. However again they forgot to put the back on it and ruined it.

Laila's dress was quite nice, but yet again had the unflattering drop waist they seem to be obsessed with.

Yet again they didn't have a clue how to dress Natalie.

Tess's dress actually looked reasonably OK from the front today. Then when the camera revealed a glimpse of her back of it revealed they'd just wrapped a sheet round her and tied it in a big knot.

As soon as she came down the stairs I thought, "Erin has some real enemies in the costume department." It did look like a governess had made it out of some particularly nasty curtains.

The bolt of fabric they just threw on Tess Daly was a close 2nd for worse dress.

And she might as well have sported a beard with a patch of hair on her chest.

Yes, worth every penny she spent on it because she didn't used to have a cleavage... or those immaculate teeth! The dress however, made her look like something from The Muppet Show.
