OK so we know the couple are doing two dances next week- one of which will be either Charleston or Rock and Roll

So that could mean they will do either of their remaining ballroom or latin dances alongside it

Charleston is more allied to ballroom while Rock and Roll is obviously latin based

Ali said she was doing the Charleston - so does that mean she will have her last remaining latin - i.e the samba

Any other guesses

I hope they do one of the 2 remaining dances they have left from the standard 12 next week.

If they don't we will only have 5 dances alltogether, and that doesn't seem all that much to me.

Ali is Charleston-ing - I'm sure Tess said that to her tonight after the demo dance...

Did they say they were doing 2 dances ?? I didnt hear that.....Bruce said and I quote 'one of two new dances either a rock and roll style dance or a charleston' So I think they will just have the one dance. I have watched back and I never heard any talk of two dances...just one of the new ones.

Me too - I was looking forward to 2 dances but as usual it was all very ambiguous.
We'll need to wait for Claudia to tell us .... again!

I'd say! Though I don't think either dance is tremendous for them. At least Laila will probably look amazing as a flapper and I think I might have to just cling on to the aesthetic value of next week rather than the dancing

This is the stage where they normally perform two dances. Since series 4 they have performed two dances from the four shows remaning stage.

I dont think it IS two dances on Saturday Bruce definately said ONE of two new dances.....THEN what happens about the rock and roll or charleston that some of the couples DIDNT do for instance Ali has the Charleston when will she do the rock and roll ???? Its all still very much up in the air

If Natalie can control her natural instincts and learn from mistakes, this could be everything their jive wasn't.

If he's training on a Sunday then the rest of them should really consider getting sleeping bags and moving into their training rooms!! (maybe except Ali)

I think either of the dances will suite Chris, the Charleston can be quite cheeky (it was done that way on DWTS a couple of weeks ago) and the rock and roll is all fast and fun....I dont think he will have a problem with either of those. I would say the same about Natalie. Laila and Anton would struggle with rock and roll I think as would Ali so its probably good she has got Charleston. Ricky W would be fine with either, however rock and roll is very like Jive and Natalies routine was criticised so she will have to sort that out.....I expect it will be rapid whatever they do.

I doubt if Anton wants either of the dances, as even the Charleston is likely to be a nightmare for Laila. Firstly it is mainly danced out of hold and even when in hold, the female has to follow the male's pace by feel and not just try to dance in time with the music.

IMHO Laila can't feel what Anton's body is telling her when they are in hold during a dance. This is an intuitive thing when you are learning to dance with a partner (especially one partner) and because Laila is only able to think about the steps, she misses out on the signals Anton's posture gives her to help her with the dance. I think Craig Kelly had this problem too.

I think the new dances will suit Natalie and Chris because they can just really go for it and entertain us without having to worry so much about their posture, faces and feet!

Ricky will also be fantastic with a definite potential for 10s and Ali will be good, but as will every other fast dance, she won't be able to dance freely - her ballet training seems to make her point her feet all the time and be so exact and precise with every move.

I'm hoping we'll see something as good as Melissa and Mark's Charleston on DWTS. They got two 9s and a 10 when they did a fabulous Charleston in Week 4 and went home in week 7.

It would be great if the new dances were so exciting it made everyone really look forward to the semi and final, after the sad loss of Jade from the show.

Lets hope he remembers this one then! I agree, the style should suit. He (like Natalie L) has a chance to atone for past mistakes if this is the dance he gets. It's an opportunity to show real development if he can take it.

Also I don't think they're doing two dances because Tess would have made a huge deal about it.

Chris' jive had a great FEEL to it though, the only thing wrong with it was that he couldn't remember the steps. He seems to have recovered VERY well from his memory problems and is now producing almost flawless (in terms of remembering choreography) routines every week.

Thanks Irish I was just going to say Chris and Ola stuffed up their Jive (yes) but he forgot the routine so it went down the pan....I am not saying he is going to be up in the stratesphere with scores but I think if they dont go wrong on the routine it could be a lot of fun and a crowd pleaser.

I also loved the Charleston as done on DWTS this series so I am hoping for lots of fun with that. Melissa and Mark had not been high up in scores before their Charleston and then stormed it so whoes to say that the leader board couldnt be turned upside down on SCD

Didn't Ali say in the Tesspit - or to be more precise confirm Tess' question - that she's doing Charleston?
