I think your wish will come true which ever dance they attempt.

The idea of the Charleston to music by Amy Winehouse (or whatever ludicrous options they are given) fills me with gloom.

I'd like to see Ricky do RnR - improve on that jive
Ali - Charleston - bring some oomph to it
Natalie - RnR
Chris - RnR
Leaving Laila with Charleston

Although X-Factor is starting to look more entertaining. Never have I watched it but surely 15 million people can't be THAT wrong....

Has that been said or are you guessing? Please tell me you are guessing...

C'mon. There will be 2 or 3 Charlestons. Do you really think they are going to do trad music for more than 1?????

Not a chance.

In the VT for the new dances. I'm sure Alesha said that Rock 'n' Roll would be hard for the male celebs because they will have to lead.

Now she could just mean that in the sense that it's hard for male celebs, because they are having to lead.

But maybe the male celebs will be doing Rock 'n' Roll. We know Ricky is at least, so maybe Chris will be too.

We know Ali is doing Charleston, and I would guess that Natalie would too, seeing as she was the only one doing a latin dance yesterday.

That just leaves Laila up in the air, she could join the other female celebs in doing Charleston, or she could do the Rock 'n' Roll making it, 3 latin and 2 ballroom.

Do you get a penny every time you bash Anton?, you bitter woman.

It'd be fair to say that there's every chance this won't be Laila and Anton's week - the interesting part will be who ends up alongside them in the dance-off!

In the red, 'decent dancer' corner, Ricky and Ali - in the blue, 'hefty public vote' corner, Chris and Natalie. Which one's going to prove more important?

Given this dichotomy I almost don't care which dances they end up with, but I'd like Chris to do the RNR and Natalie the Charleston.

Chris Charleston (CRH on Breakfast)

I think Charleston will suit Chris it can be a cheeky dance.

Just to clarify this - neither of these dances would fir into the Ballroom category. They are both part of the same family of dances sometimes referred to as the "American" dance form. Charleston is the parent of Lindy Hop and Rock & Roll is a modified version of Lindy. Having seen the woeful attempts at "Swing" dances in this series to date and the generally lacklustre Ballrom Jives, i don't have much hope of anyone producing a quality RnR - Ricky might be able to produce some good aerials though (Anton or Vincent doing aerials is unlikely). Charleston is so different from anything though that I'd say all bets are off as to who could master it

BTW Ryan & Jenny are two of the best swing dance teachers around so there is some hope that something good will be produced on Saturday (mind you I don't know how much involvement they can have)

Just to add that Chris also mentioned that they are doing a group Vienesse Waltz and that they had been training for this on Sunday.

No confirmation on whether this will be a marked dance or a filler, although I think there has been a celeb group dance at this stage before so I would suspect the latter.

That seems a bit odd we saw a group pro VW in Blackpool so you would wonder why the pro/celeb group would be doing one......oh well we will wait and see.

Have they all done the VW now? Maybe as they were all learning new dances this week- pro's included- TPTB thought it would be easier to get them to do a dance they had all done??

Also- they did a group VW on the first series- I remember Natasha and Brendan laughing at Chris who galloped round and round the rest of the group!

I'm no fan of Anton's Latin but they might make a reasonable attempt at RNR. Anton's jive with Lesley Garrett was surprisingly watchable for the right reasons.

Charleston is also the parent of Quickstep too, after watching the DWTS Charleston it may not be that BAD

So we know it is going to be Ali and Chris definatley doing Charleston.

Ricky W is definatley doing Rock and Roll- Laila did ballroom on Saturday after two latins - could she have the Charleston and Natalie the Rock and Roll

I'm really looking forward to the Charleston and Rock'n'Roll. Make a change from the usual dances which were getting a bit samey. The original competition with non celebs was more entertaining and seemed to have a bigger variety of dances - not so much glitter but loads of verve and panache! Can't wait till Saturday!

Chris from week 1 has had the same discipline as Ali, which apart from the last 4 weeks has also meant the same dance.
I wonder if at the beginning, they thought those 2 were going to be comparable and so decided dance choices accordingly?

To who asked if they had all done the VW answer YES

These are the dances the current couples havent done (but I suppose the Rock n Roll or Charleston that they havent done should now also be included)

Ali Tango and Samba (no more princess ballrooms)

Ricky W Foxtrot and Cha Cha Cha

Natalie Waltz and Rumba

Chris Waltz and Samba

Laila American Smooth and Salsa

Wasn't it clever of Natalie L to get in some foxtrot practice as part of the AS?

Natalie C can be as bubbly as she likes with her RR, if it's only her and Ricky doing it, the direct comparison is not likely to do her vote any favours.

It was me Jan- thanks for the answer!

I think that's why they will be doing this as a group dance- and as I said- they have done this as a group dance before on SCD- series 1- with them all wearing numbers and everything!
