I think Charleston will suit Chris it can be a cheeky dance.”

I do too and I think it kind of suit 'smaller' people if you know what I mean.

Pulling faces is part of doing a Charleston!

It was seeing the Charleston on DWTS this series that made me want to see it done on SCD - Melissa and Mark were great!

I am really looking forward to seeing how much fun they can bring to the dance floor this week, especially after losing Jade last week.

I was releived to see Chris had got the Charleston.....I hope Ola gets dressed in a fab 'flapper' dress I can see this being a good dance for them.

If both Laila and Ali (neither of which are good at the fast dances) get the Charleston (I know Ali is) then I will cry foul. I know the Charleston isnt a slow dance but its not quite as full on as rock n roll. However I expect/hope that they have to do the opposite dance at some point or it wouldnt be fair at all.

Surely they can't just be doing 1 dance this week? There are only 5 couples. It will be the shortest episode ever! Plus they are getting it so much easier than the previous series contestants have. I usually love it at this time of year as it sorts out the men from the boys!

Well I agree its long overdue for 2 dances.........but I suppose there should have been 6 left and they are doing a group VW but Brian says its only one dance on twitter so there you go......dont know how they are going to fill and hour and a half.

I like when they get to 2 dances as you say it sorts out the men from the boys and sometimes those that you though would storm it dont because its too much to learn two in a week.

And sometimes those that have lurking (fairly) quietly in the wings come bursting into the limelight making you really sit up and take notice.

This has also been concerning me a little, I even checked how long the show is going to be next week (1 hour 35 mins in case you were wondering.)

I suppose there still is only one dance less than last week and this will be filled by the group dance but it still means loads of rubbish VTs about how much they all want to win

Take it that lifts are allowed this week - wonder if it will be the same rules as the american smooth or if you can do as many lifts as you want to

Are they normally doing 2 dances each by this stage?

Yes, but given that (as Len said) the show last week was of mediocre quality - can you imagine the carnage if this lot had to learn two full dances in a week? Scary.

That's what I was thinking!

Most of them are finding it hard to cope with the one.

I honestly hope Laila has the Charleston..

It's possible, but would mean Natalie would HAVE to have Rock N Roll.. Hopefully.

On DWTS the couples didn't dance the opposite dance later, so maybe not - I don't know how the dances were allocated though.

They are also doing a group VW, but it isn't clear if they will be marked on it. On DWTS the couples were placed in order and marked that way i.e. the best couple got the highest mark and the worst couple got the lowest.

Don't exaggerate. Len didn't say that at all. All he said was that now Jade had withdrawn there was a big gap between the top two couples and the rest who would have to pull their socks up.

I think Natalie will get the RnR but be careful what you wish for. To be done well, this dance requires a lot more acrobatics than jive does and Ricky W will probably provide just that.

Natalie's is likely to look a bit sick in comparison, bubbly but with limited content. We saw on Saturday how much Vinthent trusts her off the leash, i.e. not at all.

She'd be better off if there were three pairs doing that dance, including Laila who is likely to be no great shakes either.

Doesn't it strike you as very odd that it is one dance and a group dance as opposed to the two individual ones that they usually do

Noo. I'm hoping Laila has Charleston cause it'l suit her more. I don't care what Natalie has haha

He said with a very heavy sigh that this "wasn't exactly one of the better nights we've ever had". In Len speak that means it made him want to vomit.

A theory this weekend

Spoiler
Bearing in mind there is 1 hour 35 to fill and there are only five couples left

They are dancing one individual dance and a group dance isn't it poosible they will get a free pass to the next round and that the judges will just comment and not score

Footygirl:

Wouldn't that mean there's even MORE time to fill?

I'm not very excited about either dance this week. I'm hoping I'll be pleasantly surprised.

Interesting theory.

You may have something there, but possibly.....

Spoiler
not revealing the free pass until the time comes when we'd usually vote?
footygirl

Yeah you have a point

Spoiler
What if they do it as per normal and then we are told that our votes will dictate the positioning on the leaderboard for next week and leave the voting lines open for an extended amount of time

Yes, I quite like that idea.

At the beginning of ITT tonight the announcer said that ITT would be 'explaining the situation' so I got all excited thinking they were going to say Ricky and Erin had not infact been eliminated but no such luck.

I wondered what the announcer meant, but by the end of the show I was none the wiser.

I hope the producers are taking a leaf out of the DWTS rule book and will be doing something different this series following the loss of Jade this week. I'm more hopeful of this happening after the announcement of the two new dances.
