I know he's old and has been around a while but Strictly without him was like trifle without the jelly - rubbish!

Well it's back again to the "Old Bruce Forsyth Show" every Saturday night, isn't it. He wasn't missed at all last week and the show flowed more smoothly in his absence. This week, he seemed determined to include twice as many (unsuccessful) attempts at humour as he usually does (probably to make up for last week's absence) and then wasted time milking the audience for some sort of applause. Even the producers had to remind him that he was running our of time.

For goodness sake, he even got Shirley Bassey's name wrong - and that was even with the prompts. No Brucie, you're time is well and truly up. You may have been an entertaining song and dance man in your heyday but these days are long gone and it appears you are desperately hanging on in the hope of a knighthood. Quit while you still have a little dignity left.

Bruce is not jut an ordinary presenter he's a showman as well so he is going to hog the limelight somewhat. He's awesome - 81 years old doing live TV every week for months at a time. I'd be exhausted myself and am many decades younger. Yes there's some fluffs but it's live - there's going to be. Most presenters would get things wrong.

I'm pleased to see him back. One week was okay without him but it would have become tedious.

Try watching Dancing With The Stars to see how a live show should work with a decent presenter.

One word NO, I didn't like Ronnie Corbett either, thought he was a waste of space.

I completely agree with you. He is cringe worthy.

Yes I was infuriated by that. He wasted extra time talking rubbish as the couples finished their dance and then proceeded to constantly interrupt and talk over the judges. He assumes everything he says is more important then anyone else . SCD would be far better without him.

Yes that was absolutely disgraceful to get Shirley Bassey's name wrong even though he knew she was appearing and he had his idiot board to read his lines. He should pack his bags now .

That was unforgiveable.

The contrast between the last two live shows - one with Bruce and one without - has highlighted his inadequacy as a host. The previous week's show felt fresh, mainstream, professional and actually quite glamorous. With him back, and the added contrast of a live show without him, it felt NAFF

where was the second judges's joke we were promised? All we got was Bruno's card with riddence in it.

Right, but it will change nothing. I bet Bruce has an eye-wateringly large severance payment in his contract if the BBC terminate it in mid-season.

I also get the impression that Bruce's buddies are being foisted on the producers as test kites. RC was used - dismally - and Lionel Blair touted around before Marketing Research spoke to their consumer panels. The implication for me is that even if these two are deemed to be unacceptable to the public, Bruce will be allowed to suggest another couple of successors.

I didn't miss him at all but I didn't think Ronnie Corbett was the right choice to replace him. Surely they could get somebody younger and more vibrant. Brucie's too old and his jokes too tired, he should have retired years ago.

I like his dancing and his quick quips. When Craig said she trod on his left toe, Bruce pounced, quick as a flash: "His left toe? Which one?" And when Alesha said about elongating a step, again instantly he came out with: "Elongate? Use your 'eel..." There is also a warmth, kindness and amiability about him that makes him appealing and likeable. He may be awful in some ways, with poor scripted jokes and that hair etc but I like him - even though it may make me wonder at myself sometimes!

I missed Bruce when he was off, but he WAS irritating this week - like a child who hasn't had enough attention and so acts up appallingly when it finally receives some.

In fairness to him, the show had an awful lot of filler time in it and he was having to talk for longer between couples as a result, so some of it was probably a direct request from producers. Didn't make the Shirley Ballet thing any funnier though.

Bruce - Not nice to see you, to see you not nice.

A retirement home awaits you - please go there a.s.a.p. and leave the show to Claudia and Tess.

Brucie is a national treasure, a living legend! I do think Claudia should replace Tess though. Tess is very wooden, and is very awkward when interviewing contestants. Claudia is funny, great with the contestants, and much more articulate with her questions.

Ha ha ha... I take it you were joking. National treasure, living legend, maybe in his own head. He's an over-rated, unfunny has been.

And to the poster who said he keeps it all together, that is equally funny. He stutters and stumbles his way through each show. He can't even gat his jokes right on the autocue.

The sooner he leaves the better.
