Can you transfer copy protected files to Ext HDD?

I have now managed to format an external HDD in EXT3 to use with my Foxsat HDR (I confess that I purchased Partition Manager v10 for £26 so that I could do painlessly on my PC - a cop-out I know!)

I can now transfer and playback succesfully with the exception of the old BBC HD copy-protected files which have a cross next to them and the copy button is greyed out. I seem to recollect that even before the copy-once system now employed by the BBC that some people had successfully manegd to tansfer to an external HDD - or does my memory decive me?

If it's possible can anyone advise me how?

Many thanks

Only by having recorded them in non-freesat mode, which is unencrypted, or by getting direct access to the internal disk to copy them off to a PC, without using the Humax interface to do it.

Rgds.

Les.
