Where's the line. Was Natalie 'cheating' because she couldn't do the samba very well?

Chris and Ola had feeling. It had emotion and connection and a sense of a partnership. I LOVED it.”

Sorry, I don't agree. If you are dancing a viennese waltz, there needs to be some viennese waltzing in it. It isn't a question of interpretation - pivot turns are not a viennese waltz step so they shouldn't be used regardless of how you interpret the dance. You could dance a foxtrot to rumba music (and in Ricky and Erin's case last night you could certainly have danced a cha cha to their tango music) but that doesn't mean you should do it!

You can always tell the celebs who are rubbish at the VW. They have an endless introduction, an endless finale and lots of pivots with virtually no viennese steps. Because most of the public can't tell the difference, they usually get away with it, helped by public anger at the judges telling them they didn't do it very well (as Alesha did last night) when because they know no better it looked OK on the TV screen.

To be fair to Chris & Ola, I've seen a lot worse and they intro/finale sections weren't as protracted as some but still...

Absolutely agree Jan. I was warming to Alesha but after last night .........!!! Just don't get me started!!

All the pros take advantage ,look at Natalie Cassidy an AS and no lift they all do it,but she is constantly praised and overmarked for her enthusiasm, whereas in my opinion Chris and Ola are constantly undermarked,I really enjoy watching then dance...Ali may be one of the best but it all looks too pained and so intense, she milked it when she bruised her toe and so did Brian,Ricky W goes on about his long hours on Hollyoaks has anyone ever heard Chris moaning about his long days?..no and he's there every single day,4.00am start..Now lay off the little peoplethey're the best pairing this series, they've personalities and most of all they're enjoyable to watch.....Team Cola all the way.

Yes, it was slow, but I think cheating is overstating things. As for walking-pace jives, anyone remember Lisa Snowdon's?!

Abbasolutey, this made me laugh. My husband point-blank refuses to watch history programmes with me because he gets so annoyed by my comments!

I actually thought that Ola ruined it by going for such a slow song - Chris is a nippy little fella generally and a bit more speed would probably have suited him (though I dunno how they've got through all the pivot sections at speed).

That said, having seen the ITT footage all week I wasn't holding out for anything great, so I was pleasantly surprised by the lovely feel they generated as part of the dance, at the very least.

She didn't milk anything - you obviously didn't see the backstage footage, she was actually bleeding after they had finished dancing and had to have her foot in an ice bucket to dull the pain Why the public voted her into the bottom two but saved Laila who didn't do half as well carrying her injury I can't understand

Chris and Ola aren't constantly undermarked, in reality they just aren't as good as their fans think they are.

I think the majority of fans of Team Cola will disagree, and think they are a brilliant team.

The vw only consists of 5 different steps, so attempting them all is hardly too much to learn. And yes, there is a compulsory speed for VW - as there is for all the dances. And despite what some say, it is a lot easier to dance any of the fast dancers slowly - if nothing else it gives 'thinking' time; it is why people who are practising new choreography always practise slowly and work up to correct speed.
