I think Ali is the least irritating out of the final 5.

Hopefully, she'll eventually get the feel of the Latin in time for the final.

So do I.

I'm not blind to the shortcomings of my favourites at all.

I accept that Laila and Natalie have their weaknesses, but they've improved more than Ali has and I prefer their personalities.

Question: How irritating is Ali Bastian?

Answer: Not half as irritating as Brian Fortuna.

If I was give marks out of 10, I would give Ali one. Then another and then another. I would then continue until testicles ached.

Natalie Cassidy would would get a big fat zero though. Which is quite ironic really.

I think she's a lovely girl. I don't see Ali as wet, bland and soppy, at all.

Like Spinaker said - One person's 'irritating' or 'wet and soppy' is another's 'charming' or 'delightful' and that is very true ”

Oi! We have had our fair share of anti-Ricky threads thank you very much! They're right up there with the "get rid of Bruce" and "get rid of Alesha" threads! It's nice for the WWWs to have a break and watch some of the others having to defend their favourites for a change!

bland boring and all this "loved up" crap is just grating now. Watching them two cooing & mooning over each other is like chewing tin foil.

Its about time the Beeb stamped its foot on this falling in and out of love nonsense on the dance floor between pros & contestants, its happening year on year now and its not strictly without a bloody love story its about time the pros spent less time teaching a horizontal rumba and spent more time teaching them the bloody dances to a decent standard.

Run her through an old fashioned mangle, and there'd be enough moisture to irrigate the Negeve Desert.

Ali is a lovely girl who is slowly coming out of her shell and dances like a dream i can honestly say ali is a hell of a lot less irriting then the other 4 left.Starting a thread just to spite another thread is really quite immature.I would much rather see Ali win then any of the others but it is quite clear that a few people are worried that ali is going to beat their favouite so feel the need to post the same things other and other again.Ali and Brian to win

i hate ali and i hate natalie, ali and brian's personality grates on me, i don't know why.

natalie dancing with her mouth open and getting high scores for bad dancing annoys me.

i hope ricky wins.

I don't think she's irritating in the slightest. I also don't find her boring, why does everyone who is slightly quiet have to be considered boring ? Maybe she's a bit shy.

I also think she is totally gorgeous and a beautiful dancer. Now Ricky & Erin are gone, I'm rooting for Ali.

She doesn't irritate me. She bores me.

Her Latin is very passive and, despite being young and fit, she emits no energy.

People say she has ballet training. It certainly looks like it. Maybe that disciplined, reined-in aspect of ballet suits her personality but she doesn't come over as interesting in conversation. I like watching her ballroom and that's as far as it goes. The difference between Matt Cutler and Ian Waite - Ian seems like he's a good laugh and Matt seems very nice. So I prefer Ian's performance because it seems to have an edge to it.

Bit like Princess Diana - I know what she looks like but I can't remember anything she ever said.

Give me Chris any day.

I wonder who the mythical 'they' is that the OP refers to

I love Ali. Shes beautiful, gracious, kind and unassuming with a quirky sense of humour thats subtle and not in your face. Shes supportive of the others and has never had a bad word to say about any of them. I love her partnership with Brian which has more chemistry than any i've ever seen before. Together they are my favourite SCD partnership ever.

The only thing that does irritate me about her is I think out of all the couples she's the most confident of getting to the final, and yet when asked, simpers that she hasn't thought about it. There have been a few comments where I've thought hmmmm, you're not as fragile as I thought you were. The most obvious one which springs to mind was the VT of her with her foot in ice saying "at least I wont have to do that again", and then ending up in the DO.”

Sorry Laura just to correct you there. What she actually said was 'no more drama for me, thats it' which isn't quite the same as saying at least i won't have to do that again.

Isn't that down to constant repetition though? I swear, if I hear "Yeah baby" and "Ola chops" many more times, I'll be tempted to grab the carving knife and hunt him down.

No, Muggsy, they don't grate on me yet.

I think they make a good couple and I am happy to be liking Ola since I have never taken to her previously.

I don't see me "going off" them. They'd have to say or do something very unkind or ungenerous.

I tend to agree..Ali does appear rather "wet".
I suppose if she had been some "unknown", plucked from obscurity and thrust into the limelight, I would have found her character endearing. I just find that as an actress, her shy and retiring act is rather difficult to believe.

I'm sure Ali is a lovely girl, but she really is bland ,and has the personality of a gnat, for an actress she does come across as very underwhelming.
Her lines are good but there is absolutely no passion there for dance itself,my nightmare final would be her and Ricky W,which unfortunately I think it may well be ,unless she ends up in the bottom 2 with Ricky, which I can't see happening.

I think it's bit unfair to call Ali wet or boring, she's a lovely quiet girl who dances beautifully with Brian. They have a lovely chemistry. Not everyone has an outgoing personality, tbh I cannot warm to Chris Hollins, finding him a bit smug, but I know he is extremely popular on here.

Agree with Spinaker too.......one person's 'irritating' or 'wet and soppy' is another's 'charming' or 'delightful'

Yep - I agree! She comes over to me as a really nice person; she's a great dancer and I don't agree she has no personality. I certainly don't find her irritating and I think Brian really pushes her with the choreography.

She doesn't irritate me at all. I can see she is a good dancer (although she is overrated in comparison to someone like Rachel). However, I agree that she is a bit boring and she didn't have a real journey, so it's difficult to connect to her.

I still prefer her over Ricky Whittle though.

I think that in her Ballroom dances she looks like an Ice-Princess, utterly gorgeous.

I think she's a lovely dancer, although the overall standard of the whole show strikes me as lower than other years.

The only thing that makes me uncomfortable is the 'are they/aren't they a couple?' thing. Hey, I know it's their own business, no argument, but at the same time it makes me feel like a voyeur, feeling like I'm accidentally catching them 'doing something'.

I don't think she's irritating at all - she's a kind, sweet, genuine person, and a beautiful dancer.
