I saw that story and thought "now if one of the royal girls marries one of J&E and then some disaster befalls a huge number of those in line to the throne ahead of her ..."

That would only happen if John or Edward converted from Catholiscism as according to the provisions of this act:

If someone in line of succesion marries someone who is Catholic or converts to Catholiscism they are then removed from the succession

Do you know whether they are Catholic? They went to a protestant school in Dublin.
