Laila needs to go

Laila needs to go

She's hopeless, can't dance and even worse, she can't be bothered - time she went

I dont know why the judges like her - she's forgotten most of her dances half way through which is clearly evident and i cant figure why the judges over-look it.

Her latin is appalling (out of hold she's lost lamb) and the only saving grace is when Anton 'drags' her around in the ballroom

The main reason she forgets her steps is that she cant be bothered to practice

Last week she had the excuse of a foot injury - but it was very evident that she stopped dancing for one reason - she had forgotten her steps once again - it was written all over her face

She better go next week - She is a total disgrace

Agreed Jethro, she had the potential couldnt be arsed and imo has blown it and should have gone a couple weeks back.

She doesn't need to go anywhere.

Personally I LOVE watching Laila and Anton, I do wish she'd put more effort in, and I think its a shame she hurt her ankle and lost hours because of it because that Rumba could have been magical, and so could've her Waltz. I just hope the dance-off gives her the kick up the bum she needs and pulls a showstopping AS out of the bag.

.... where?

All the way to the final, or to the toilet? the physio?

You need to be more specific in your title.

Only kidding of course. I don't think it's decided that she has to go. Wait until next Saturday, and decide on her performance then.

I find L&A the least entertaining of the remaining couples - by far.

But - we wait and see!

Sadly she's a close mate of Simon Cowell and Cowell and Bruno are mates so she's very much part of an in crowd.

Did you notice how she made eye contact with all the judges as the dance off results were called out last night, whereas RG just kept his head down? It was almost as if she was daring them to send her home.

Personally I think she has the worst attitude of any of the remaining celebs and I'm sick of her moaning.

She did a very good job with only 6 hours training. A lot of people seem to forget we are talking about people with no previous dance training.

That is possibly the most insane post I have ever read. *Hands trophy* you are officially paranoid.

I'd prefer to see inferior dancers like Natalie and Chris go before Laila.

Oooh can you nominate me for post of the day please?

BTW I'm serious.....this show business lark is jobs for the boys and more incestuous that East Anglia. If you don't believe me ask Joe Calzaghe.

I think Laila's main problem is Anton. There was the very public incident early on which, though it appeared to have been resolved, must have been tough to recover completely from.

Anton also has a problem choreographing/performing good Latin dances. Add Laila's hesitation with Latin to that and it's not surprising that her Latin dances have been seriously underwhelming. It would have been interesting to see how she could have got on with someone else who didn't have the same Latin gremlins as she did and just told her (nicely) that she was worrying about nothing and to get on with it.

Her attitude hasn't come across very well but I'm not sure how encouraging Anton has been when she's had doubts. When she was dreading the jive, he seemed to be almost encouraging her negative attitude (didn't he say something like - this isn't Laila's dance but hopefully it's early enough in the competition for us to get away with it?) rather than telling her she could do it and to believe in herself.

Had Laila had a different partner - any different partner, we could have seen a different person/dancer.

Up until last week I would have been "outraged" at the thought of Laila going before Ricky G. However, there was something about the whole sprained ankle thing that didn't sit comfortably with me and I really wanted Ricky to win the DO.

Anton and Laila have gone from being my third faves to the couple I would now most like to leave. I believe she thinks she can "act" her way into claiming the glitterball, and she really annoyed me she limped down the stairs into the DO last night. She really has to start remembering her routines and not rely on mini dramas to get her through. I've just realised I'm so angry with her that I can't type my thoughts properly!

I've not warmed to her at all this series and as for Anton - I'm sick of the grinning chump, for all he is superb at ballroom

I do think she should go before the final as she is not consistent enough in both the Ballroom and Latin to be a finalist. I have also found her defeatist attitude with her Latin to be a shame because if she had just pepped herself up a little bit, I imagine her Latin would be a fair sight better.

I appreciate that Laila isn't the strongest dancer left in the competition, but she's better than everyone who has left so far and has been the most interesting celebrity to follow in my eyes.

I find her totally captivating.

Not expecting her to win, or reach the final for that matter, but I'm glad she has come this far.

Let's just see what happens next week. By the way isn't this the furthest Anton has ever got to in SCD?

In terms of weeks, yes. In series one, though, he made the semi-final with Lesley Garrett. The run was significantly shorter back then, however.

Didnt he get to the semis or something with Leslie Garret? And didnt he do reasonably well with Patsy Palmer?

I would say Laila is better than both Chris and Natalie, but I can't see Chris going any time soon.

He came third with Lesley Garrett and fifth with Patsy Palmer. However, with Lesley he was third out of eight couples and with Patsy third out of twelve so even if he and Laila go next week (not unlikely) they'd be fifth out of sixteen which, mathematically, could be seen as a better result.

well you acknowledge she can't be bothered

frankly 'making the effort' is the minimum requirement on SCD so she should go for that reason alone

I've already made up my mind - she's already overstayed her welcome by at least 4 weeks

At first I thought it was Anton too. I know in comparison to the other professional dancers his Latin is not great but its not bad. I really do feel the problem is with Laila. Whether this is down to lack of training I don't know but she does forget her steps and Anton does tend to guide her an awful lot.
I think she is her own worst enemy. She seems to have a mental block with Latin. Anton tried a difficult routine (Jive) and she couldn't handle it he then choregraphed a very simple, more basic routine (samba) and she still made mistakes. I just don't think she can do it.
I had high hopes for this couple but they have not performed as well as I had hoped they would. I actually feel sorry for Anton this year (can't believe I'm saying that) but to me it seems that he is trying but cannot get the best out of his partner.
