I know you ar supporting this couple but she has not been better than Chris in the majority of the latin dances at all. Maybe some of the ballroom but she has Anton and is being led round the floor.

Watercarrier I agree- he is trying and she is not is how it comes across. She appears to me to be expecting good remarks (a la Craig K) and whinges about everything-- but then that could be the Beeb's editing- who knows!

For me they are the weakest couple left but that doesn't mean they will go.
Laila needs to go

She's hopeless, can't dance and even worse, she can't be bothered - time she went

I dont know why the judges like her - she's forgotten most of her dances half way through which is clearly evident and i cant figure why the judges over-look it.

Her latin is appalling (out of hold she's lost lamb) and the only saving grace is when Anton 'drags' her around in the ballroom

The main reason she forgets her steps is that she cant be bothered to practice

Last week she had the excuse of a foot injury - but it was very evident that she stopped dancing for one reason - she had forgotten her steps once again - it was written all over her face

She better go next week - She is a total disgrace
You've got a weird idea of what's a disgrace! She's better than Natalie who is now the weakest in my opinion.

If she has the Charleston this week she may survive to the quarter finals.

Anyway isn't the real issue making sure we make it clear we want a three couple final

I just can't watch this pair. He's like Shergar in sequins and she has a dead look in her eye. She's a secret assassin or something.

I think Laila and Anton are about on par with Chris and Ola and Natalie and Vincent. All these couples have far simpler routines than Ricky W or Ali and still mess up.

Out of the three, I'd give Natalie C the edge, but only because she hasn't forgotten most of her routine on any occasion.

Chris is seriously overrated - mainly because people seem to think he and Ola are "cute". He has hardly improved, and doesn't seem to get the feel of any dance.

She is slightly better than Chris imo. Natalie is the worst dancer left and has been getting overmarked. It will be Laila and Natalie in the bottom two with Craig and Bruno saving Laila and Alesha saving Natalie. It could come down to Len this week methinks.

She's only crap at latin cos she has a crap teacher. Her ballroom should be better and on Saturday I personally thought that Ricky was better than her. She really looked like she was being dragged around, it was uncomfortable to watch.

I did too.

As regards Chris v Laila in Latin, Laila had lower marks than Chris twice - once with an injured ankle - their marks were equal otherwise dancing the same dance.

The one Latin that was different:
Chris - Salsa - 25
Laila - Samba - 28

Is Laila a FARTL - Find Any Reason to Train Less?

She started this series with a lot of credit in my book but it has drained away week by week.

Still not liking some of the OTT posts on the Laila-bashing threads though. Interesting that many of the same posters bash Alesha too.
Now what do the two of them have in common?

Laila is my least favourite by a long way and has been from the start. I don't know why I haven't been able to warm to her, I guess she just comes across as a humourless prima donna.

I do think she has reached the stage now where all the others are better than her so I think, in all fairness, it is her time to go.

I don't know.....what do they have in common? I know I can't listen to Alesha's grating nonsense and Laila's constant whinging is becoming tiresome.....

They are both women? (So are half the others.)
They both have dark hair? (So do Lilia and Erin and Nat C.)
They are beautiful? (So are most of the other professionals.)

Okay, maybe it was a little simplistic to say that Laila's main problem was Anton but I don't think he's done her any favours.

Laila has a fair amount of natural ability - more, I would say, than either Natalie or Chris and at the start of the series she looked like she could have challenged at the top. Then she hit the Latin wall and her intial attitude was , "I can't do this."

This is where I think Anton came in. I can't help feeling that he exacerbated her Latin problem rather than helped with it and that another pro may have had more success by nipping it in the bud early on. It may not have worked - Laila may be too headstrong for that but I still think that Anton was a little too ready to cede to Laila's problems with the Latin section because it's not his strength either.

I don't believe Laila is a worse dancer than Chris or Natalie.

I do think she's less popular and perhaps that clouds people's judgements of her dancing?

I'm supporting all three but I acknowledge that they have all seriously messed up at one point or another.

I don't think Laila needs to go, certainly no more than Chris or Natalie, but I do think she will find this week hard. She doesn't seem able to do fast dancing.

It does sound awfully like you're accusing people who don't like Laila of racism but I'm sure that must be me reading too much into your comments.

Since Spraytan-gate, I've tried to like Laila; after all, neither the media frenzy over something that may or may not have happened with way it was described by some who may or may not have been there or within earshot, nor the resultant weeks of victim status were her fault.

She is absolutely beautiful to look at, although I preferred her without the fake tan, to be honest. Still being honest, I do prefer the ice-queen beauty of Ali (not that I personally fancy women at all).

I missed Ankle-gate, although I found it interesting that while there were many who still thought, 'poor Laila', this time there were a lot more, 'shut up whingeing'-type comments.

I think she is probably a better dancer than Natalie, not sure how she compares with Chris. What keeps saving her is that I think she is undeniably more glamorous than N or C.

She danced like a sack of potatoes on Saturday though.

Laila to win! (I can dream! *sigh*)

But, I would only say Laila is the stronger of the three because like quoted their all pretty the same weakness at Latin but I would say Laila slightly edges the other two at Ballroom.

Fair enough!

Everyone see's everything differently and I don't mind abit- its good to see someone staunchly supporting their chosen ones!

I won't be in the country for the final so its largely academic for me!

She has a mental block with ballroom too except then she has Anton to drag her around and it's clearly evident

I agree with the OP. She has hardly improved since week one and is still making basic mistakes in her ball room. Her Latin is terrible and I agree that at times she seems like she cant be bothered. Also, I question how bad tha ankle actually is? The Doctors left the decision to dance last week up to her which tell me that they didnt think it was too bad. Since then she's paraded around in her bandage, almost using it as an excuse not to practice. She's cant go much further simply because she isnt good enough and doesnt have the attitude to improve.

What name??

It looked to me like she has more natural ability than either Natalie or Craig but she hasn’t bothered to capitalizes on this and therefore improve. She is still working on basic stuff like her posture and remembering her routine when the others although not as gifted have clearly worked on these and other issues.

She started off much better than Craig and Natalie but they are catching her up in some dances. I think whether she goes will depend on whether she decides to knuckle down and work, or not. I think whether she decides to put the effort in or not depends on whether she has a dance that she likes i.e. not to fast, not too much independent movement and not too complex to remember. Meanwhile the others at the bottom of the board are committed to stretching themselves whatever they get so may overtake her.

What makes it even more interesting is that both the other lower rankers are popular so there is a posibiltiy she will be in the danceoff against one of the better dancers. They only have to slip up. It makes the competition interesting.

How do you make the statement that she can't be bothered to practice? Is this inside information? Her hours were down last week because of the ankle injury but for the most part she's trained as much - if not sometimes a little more - than the rest of the competitors.

Okay so whos left?
Chris, Ricky, Natalie, Ali & Laila. Wow is that it or did I forget someone?

So really and truthfully if it were on pure dancing skill, Natalie & Chris would go before Laila so would that put her and Anton in the semis now we are short one couple?

I can totally see Laila, Ali & Ricky being the last three and not unjustifiably so either.

But clearly a miracle would have to happen for her to beat Ali or Ricky to win.

I dont need to count her hours, it's written all over her 'cant be bothered' attitude!

It's not rocket science
