I really don't like the idea of a 2 couple final but now we are stuck with it does everyone no agree this would be the most exciting final we could have

Both dancers are of equal standing with the judges.Both have a great sense of humour and fun.Both females are sexy to watch and both males have nice dance moves

Also I don't really know which couple would win in this final so the drama would be great right down to the final announcement.

As good as Ali and Ricky are they are maybe just a bit too good and unlikely to add to the drama whilst with these 2 you wouldn't know what to expect next

There is no 'dream' two-couple final.

If it has to be two couples only, then even though my favourite couple is Laila & Anton I hope that it's Ricky vs Ali on merit...because frankly they're in a different league to the others.

Yes I got to say as much as I would love this I can ever see boring Ricky or Ali losing in a dance off to one of these 2 couples

So even though I don't think both of them will be in the final I think we may have one (Lets hope its Ali)

No - I think Ali and Ricky W should be there on merit.

I certainly wouldn't want to see Laila and Anton there though I wouldn't mind Team Cola as they are so entertaining.

One person's dream is another's nightmare. As much as I love Chris, the thought of him and Laila doing three dances in a final frightens me.

I agree that Ricky and Ali deserve to be the final couple on merit.

My first response was to look for a :barf: smiley but then I decided the idea might have merit.
I don't dislike Ricky or Ali but I don't feel the tingle that previous winners/finals gave me. So maybe a just for the fun of it final would be good, burst the pompous bubble that SCD seems to have blown round itself over the series. That's series plural.

Much as I might like your scenario to come true, I think we can safely say that it's extremely unlikely it will.

As per Series 5, the judges now control who makes the final - and that will be their clearly stated favourites, Ricky W and Ali.

I'm guessing Team Cola might make the semis - but the judges will nix their chances of progressing.

And, while I will still vote for them, Chris has really got to up his game. He needs a Gethin-like breakthrough where he can remain consistently good. Blackpool was a fortnight ago and that terrific performance hasn't quite permeated through to his subsequent dances. A job for Mrs Jordan!

Despite all this, I still want them to win. But I very much doubt they will now ...

Chris and Ola I could live with for heaven help us if the whingey leila gets there too!!

The dream final would be Ricky W vs Ali, because only that would give us any measure of intrigue and drama.

Both of them can clearly perform to a high standard, both have pro partners willing to push them hard to get results, and to choreograph routines with a hefty 'danger element' in them. Neither is exactly Mr/Ms Personality 2009, and I'm pretty sure neither is topping the phone vote every week.

Any final that pitted one of these two against a couple relying on personality for their place in it would be totally one-sided. With that thought through, I think I'm going to start voting for them both every week to back up my point of view

Unless Ali and Ricky end up in the dance-off against each other prior to the final.

I really hope that they do "something" to ensure three couples in the final.
Ricky and Ali are a shoo-in, but it would make for a more interesting final to have a third pairing.
I'd like to see Chris/Ola as the third pair.

I think we can be sure of a three couple final judging by what it states on the BBC site on what happens in the event of someone pulling out prior to the quarter finals.

and Laila and Chris? Never going to happy sorry Bhoy.

Now Jade has gone I'm left in the unusual (for me) situation of not really supporting any of the couples.

Ricky & Natalie and Ali & Brian should be the finalists if there's only a two couple final, because they are far, far better dancers than any of the remaining contestants.

The judges have scored the remaining dancers on average as follows:
1) Ricky & Natalie - 34.5
2) Ali & Brian - 33.3
3) Natalie & Vincent - 28.4
4) Laila & Anton - 28.3
5) Chris & Ola - 27.6

Chris & Ola seem to be very popular on here (though their appeal is rapidly wearing thin to me), so should there be a three person final, I'd suspect that they would be joining Ricky and Ali there. However, whilst Natalie & Vincent don't seem to be too popular on here, they've yet to be in the dance-off...

Bhoy, will you just give it a sodding rest? Its your own fault for not putting a bet on Ali or Ricky at the start.

This would be a nightmare final for me. If the two strongest (by some distance) dancers don't make the final then it becomes a pantomime. I am only interested in pantomimes if they are actually pantomimes.

Hope we somehow get a 3 couple final, with the 3 couples who have yet to be in the dance off - Ricky/Natalie, Natalie/Vincent and Chris/Ola.

One excellent dancer and 2 who have shown improvement, all of them popular enough to have secured the public vote so far, so they are the ones the general public want to see
