Well, except for the fact that they did it on national tv, that kinda makes it other people's business, at least for comment's sake. And it was uncomfortable to watch. I guess that's my problem, but if it's none of my business, don't show it to me or tell me about it.

It is happening in training where they are being constantly filmed, yet because they are concentrating on their training they're not thinking about it and are acting as though they are alone to a certain extent. They don't have any control over what is and isn't broadcast, and it's unreasonable to expect them to spend all of their training time acting in a way that is suitable for broadcast. They just have to be themselves and let the BBC decide what goes out on national TV. I can understand people not enjoying watching it, but I don't think that means people should judge Chris and Ola for it.

I'm not sure if that is right - surely they have a say on whether something can be shown or not?

With the number of pieces of VT used every week, I cannot believe that the production team would have time to run every item past the featured couple(s), or that couples would have the time to go and check them. I expect that part of the agreement to be on Strictly is that you accept your training will be filmed and that the BBC have the right to show what they wish from that footage.

Go complain to BBC if it bothers you that much

I would actually admire Chris more if he had the guts to say 'Ola, please stop that - it hurts and is demeaning'.

If as others have suggested Chris doesn't mind/enjoys it, then I ask you to think what would be said if Anton, Brian and Vincent started doing it to Laila, Ali and Natalie. Would it be ok if the women said they enjoyed it? I think not.

I think men are quite as entitled as women not to be touched inappropriately, whether on tv or not.

If it was anyone else it might have bugged me but I just thought it was a part of the whole double act they've got going.

But why are you getting upset for him?

Because I am a nice person who doesn't like to see someone being hurt just because they get a few dance steps wrong?

Because I basically think it is inappropriate touching?

Because it sets a bad example to youngsters who may be watching? If you do something wrong I will hurt you? Not a nice attitude I don't think.

Complain to BBC then.

Perhaps I will. I'm not sure that it is an either/or situation ... comment here OR complain. Are you implying that I should just have complained direct and not mentioned it here?

I think it's OK to check other people's opinions, I for one don't care, but if you feel so strongly about it, the best way now is to tell them.

If Chris objected to Ola doing it, I'm fairly sure he would say so.

He's not a shrinking violet and is more than capable of standing up for himself.

Bullying indeed!

I wonder how many other men Ola plays this game with - only one I'd guess. James would have good reason to be getting worried, as this behaviour - on camera - means Ola is step by step losing her inhibitions with Chris.

I agree and thank the OP for raising a valid point.

I think Chris comes across as a sweetie and probably the last person to answer 'Mrs Jordan' back or anything. I think he is actually totally overwhelmed by 'Ola Chops' and clearly likes her very much ... which probably makes it even less likely that he'd publicly or privately ask her not to do it.

However (and I can't believe I'm still banging on about this) I don't think that even if he does like it that it is acceptable behaviour. It's like smacking.

The words 'moutain' and 'mole hill' spring to mind.

I would bet if Chris read this he would laugh his head off at the notion of him being a poor little bullied thing.

Chris should be careful, if he did it in dress rehearsal he could find he's given her mic transmitter a "tweak" which is stitched inside her bra's right cup.

Oh you never know. This might just be the sort of thing that Claudia will pick up on next time she interviews them on ITT.

There would be nothing left for James to do something too!

PS I thought this thread was a joke and the OP was just messing about.

Sorry - I was serious actually. Not like me, admittedly, but serious this time.

While I see where you are coming from (e.g. not acceptable behaviour/bad example for kids), I wonder whether you find other instances as reprehensible as this or whether it is the fact that it involved "nipples".

Surely we have seen any of the couples engage what I call play fighting, shouting etc. Some of the celebrities have been known to run out crying. All of these should have been considered bad behaviour or bad examples for kids. Why have you singled this particular incident out. I'm seriously curious and not being obnoxious.
