IMO, Susan was better tonight, but not better than Mariah at her peak. Susan doesn't have 20 years of non stop singing and vocal nodules to compete with. |

I'd imagine the whistle register is realy difficult to do. Mariah and Subo are two completly different artists so u in real life you wouldn't compare them anyway!! but im sure subo couldnt the vocal acrobats mariah demonstrated tonight (which by the way was clearly live, apart from the chorus was a pre-recorded track she was singing on top of!!)
Perfect. X |

She was brilliant! Yes I have seen her perform this about 10 times and I know she was definitely singing the verse's, long note etc live. Ok so she has done the high note alot better than this, the best was when she did it on Oprah, but I think she has improved alot better than last year! People who say she mimed are just thick and jealous

She sung 90% live, the whistle and most of the harder notes were live. The line just before the first chorus and the first chorus were mimed but that was it.
Much better than Hero 2008! |

As a MASSIVE Mariah fan, the start of the whistle wasn't in tune

She was amazing. Im so proud of her. She has redeemed herself after her performance last year. I knew she would be better this year because Ive seen her performances over the last few months and she has been getting better and better.

What the hell?! She was pretty poor. The voice just isn't there any more sadly enough.

I watched last night as an interested observer and am neither a fan of Mariah or Susan Boyle.
Mariah is SO mannered, more interested in vocal gymnastics than putting an ounce of emotion into a song. I think she is seriously over-rated. Susan Boyle just SANG the song straight. And quite beautifully. She might not have the experience Mariah has but if experience makes you play around with a song rather than just singing it, then Susan wins hands down. |

OK, Mariah sang most of it live, but parts seemed mimed. Susan sang live all the way through, most certainly.
Personally I enjoyed Susans performance much more. |

Mariah was great, but not as great as she was on Alan Carr last week. That was outstanding!
Last night i'm sure she part mimed and sung parts of it live. Towards the end she added a few little bits which aren't in the song and i've not heard her perform before - i'm pretty sure that was live. She's definately still got it it! |

For gods sake people! As one of Mariahs fans i can tell you that she has never performed IWTKWLI fully without part of it being mimed on any tv show including alan carrs show, she has the mimed bits put in coz she cant go that high and because her voice would crack otherwise

Sounded like a dog turd being pushed up & down a cheese grater. X Factor aka 'A Night of A Thousand Wailers & Working Mens Club Turns'
I wonder if X Factor holds the record for providing the most number of turns in one year to go from town to town switching christmas lights on? Not content from clogging up the airwaves for weeks on end , monopolising the Xmas no1 , they seem hell bent of clogging town centres up with these jokers as well. The threshold of hell is upon us.
