We're fans of the Jungle Book in this house, so it's got to be the Bare Necessities. It puts a smile on my little boy's face everytime!

There are many fantastic disney songs and it's hard to choose. So many like "Just can't wait to be king", "Hakuna matata", "A friend like me", "I wanna be like you", "Prince Ali", "under the sea", "phoney king of England" and more

For me it has to be "Circle of life" which just pips it, strangely it is one of the few big disney songs I don't tend to sing along to but just listen, it is amazing.

When She Loved Me from Toy Story 2 is a cracker.

Enchanted has 3 or 4 underated belters in there as well.

That's a good one except it sometimes makes me cry when I listen to it. We sung it in secondary school (we had a choir in first year). We also song A Star Is Born from Hercules and I Just Can't Wait to Be King from The Lion King.
As for songs, I like Heigh Ho from Snow White and several songs from Mary Poppins. I have an old video somewhere called "Disney Sing Along Songs" and there were some cool songs on there. Haven't watched it in years though.

Dick Van Dyke , oft laughed at , but never bettered.

Rest of its just threadbare , syrupy borefests used by the forces of darkness to brainwash youngsters. Americanisation at its worst.

I tend not to like the more 'musical' entries like Jungle Book, Lion King and live action such as Bedknobs and Broomsticks et al as to me they get very much stuck in their time. In terms of the more traditional 'epic romance theme', the one that immediately springs to mind as according most favourably with my tastes is Eternal's 'Someday', can't remember which film it was from though. That's the exception though, as I otherwise quite agree with Sheepdog.

I have to think really hard here, but I think Beauty and the Beast tops them all - the songs are all great, but I think the film's namesake is unbeatable. However, don't give me any of that Celine Dion crap, it's all about Angela Lansbury's version!

I believe 'Someday' was from The Hunchback of Notre Dame. It was originally deleted and replaced with 'God Help The Outcasts' but I think 'Someday' plays over the credits instead.

I find it very difficult to think of just one Disney song as my favourite. I love the entire soundtrack of Pocahontas and The Lion King. I like 'Kiss The Girl' from The Little Mermaid, 'So This Is Love' from Cinderella, 'Goodbye May Seem Forever' from The Fox and the Hound, 'Be Our Guest' from Beauty and the Beast and 'The Bare Necessities' from The Jungle Book.

Favourite comes down to two possibilities though -'I Won't Say I'm In Love' from Hercules and 'When You Wish Upon A Star' from Pinocchio. Two very different songs but I love them equally for very different reasons.

The Lion King 2 had some great songs too....

He Lives In You
Upendi
Love Will Find A Way

Although my favourite Lion King song which is more of an instrumental in the first one but the words do not appear in any of the films, just the musical, is Shadowlands.

Near enough all the songs from Beauty and the Beast - the main theme is gorgeous, but the other Broadwayesque musical pieces, such as Gaston, are great for their irony.

No one plots like Gaston
Takes cheaps shots like Gaston
Likes to persecute harmless crackpots like Gaston

And the subtleties in the Kill the Beast mob song:

We don't like what we don't understand, in fact it scares us, and this monster is mysterious at least

I was surprised to find out recently that Donny Osmond sung the lead on this.

After watching the Little Mermaid last night I have to say 'Under The Sea' is brilliant as is 'Kiss The Girl', I also love 'So This Is Love' from Cinderella, very romantic!
