There are some decent songs in the new one, The Princess and the Frog. Randy Newman wrote them and you can so tell. Here's the villain one, Friends on the Other Side - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nsqy6U3g1LQ

And then this one that seriously harks back to the old days of Jungle Book and Aristocats - When We're Human - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=df90xfeunAg

Just listened to Candle on the Water on YT, and I DO remember it now, as when I was little I had a casette with it on, I didnt know it was from Pete's Dragon though as I've never seen it

I'm not sure why put some parts of the song/melody sound familliar like the part "Keep holding on, You'll make it/Here's my hand so take it"....
Is it just me?

It wasn't a Disney song but I really liked Jack Johnson's Upside Down that was done for Curious George!

Haha very funny, the point I was trying to make was concerning an animation film made in a similar vein to that of a Disney film.

Tell me about it - everyone always singles out Bambi and The Lion King as the "sad" films but IMO that part is so much more emotional! I also never understood why she was locked away when I was little, because the boy clearly deserved the smack!!

Agree about "Baby Mine" from Dumbo

I watched Toy Story 2 the other night for the first time since I was about 11 and that song is beautiful. When you're younger you tend not to pay attention to the words.

I know what you mean, I watched it yesterday too for the 1st time in many years (a decade?) and I just started crying It made me think of loving and losing, losing touch with someone, bonds between friends or a parent and child breaking.
Absolutely beautiful.

Why Should I Worry from Oliver and Company sung by Billy Joel. An overlooked film

^ loved that movie and song.
What's the other one where they are teaching Oliver to steal that was good too.
And the poodle's song about being perfect.

Over all it has to be Circle of Life.
Everytime I hear it I still get that little shiver.
