So it seems that everyone on here was severely affected by Dannii's 'singing competition' question before sending the twins home. Some of you think it was really childish and rude, others think she's somehow saved the contest and is a true heroine that should go down in history. Am I alone in thinking it did neither? It was just a remark, it said nothing that we don't already know, it was just an unusual build up and made a slightly nice change to the girls' usual 'oh dis is so hard why do we have to do dis' commentary before having to vote for a contestant to send home.

You guys DO know there have been horrible floods in Cumbria?

Well said they way some go on about it in here you would think someone had died.

They need to chill because if this upsets them then I feel sorry for them as real life is even harder.

There is a time and place for Dannii's remarks and that wasn't it...that was John and Edward's goodbye moment but she stole all the attention...I have never ever seen a judge do that before on any talent show...Dannii needs to remember it is The X Factor not The Dannii Minogue Show...

Were you seriously expecting to come onto a media website, then onto a forum called 'The X Factor' and find threads about a flood?

Then why aren't you on the General Discussion forum talking about it in depth instead of in the Entertainment / 'X-Factor' forum telling people what to talk about?

No, but I guess a bit of perspective was too much to ask for.

i started a thread on the cumbrian floods here in the x factor section of an entertainment site but it got deleted for some reason. i also did a thread on irans recent war game posturing and it went the same way wierd how people only want to discuss the x factor, you know, here in the x factor forum.

Yes I think it was abit to much to think that they would act like adults and get over it.

Shame they cant learn from J/E as they showed more maturity

Because this thread has nothing to do with floodes in Cumbria.

Folks who think it has need to get some perspective themselves.

So you think we should only talk about the serious stuff? Okay, to whoever's in charge, please close all the entertainment and general discussion forums down.

When has it ever been The Dannii Minogue Show?? The X Factor revolves entirely around Simon and Cheryl. And Sharon stole the attention plenty of times. The time when she attacked Steve Brookstein after his final performance was much worse than whatever Dannii is supposed to have done.

Did it ever occur to you that some of us read and post on these boards, as an escape from the very real suffering and trauma in our own lives?

Agreed. I just logged on to read the forum, and it's obvious that some crazies spent 7 or 8 hours here after the show writing post after post attacking someone over the question "is it a singing competition?"

1. You are interested enough to start a thread about it.

2. This is the x factor forum, talking about the floods in cumbria would be off topic and not needed here.

3. in order for people to stop talking about it, stop starting threads.

She was only having a little pop at Simon, as his decision to not decide let J&E stay over Lucie. It wasn't a go at the boys and it was totally justified.

I think the reaction over Dannii's comments have been so OTT. I rewatched the clip on youtube and it wasn't even that bad. If it was Llyod, I doubt there would be such a outcry.

IMO Louis saying 'I can't believe Ollie is in the bottom two and Lloyd is still here' is far worse than anything Dannii said.

Yet the way people are going on here, you'd think she had just killed a puppy.

What a stupid notion!

Of course it is remarkable. People are remarking about it.
As for telling people to stop talking about it. Why should we. It's a discussion forum.

What is the relevance of the floods in Cumbria? If because of the floods no one should be talking about anything, then what are you doing on here discussing it?

Well said. The same reason people talk about soap operas, escapisum for their own pain and trauma.

I do hate myself for saying this but I totally agree with all three of your comments

I know, I was out at the time of the show and when I got in and saw all these outraged threads about what Dannii had said I was most excited indeed to see what had happened. And then when I actually saw it, it was very much a case of 'what, that was it??'.

Of course not far more people liked them than voted for them.
