Awful Auto-Tune in every song!!
Argghhhhhhh
![]() Listening to Radio 1 earlier almost every song had that robotic auto-tune (made famous by Cher - Believe). Are there really that many bad singers? Why are they in the industry if they can't sing?

It really is awful now how often it's used, it was fine before when it wasn't so dominant and only a couple artists used it for a couple songs but now, it's every track of an artists album.

I love Cher's Believe song. I have it on disc and think it's great. But yes, I think if it wasn't for all the gimmicks that got placed in to the song, I doubt it would have sounded as good as it did. The video is great. I love it how the lass is utterly besotted with this fella but can't summon the courage to go up and talk to him. Although, I think she tries, but just as she takes a few steps, a woman takes her place.

It will make this decade's records date really badly imo. In ten years time people won't be able to take the records made now seriously because of the production techniques used.

Thank God, I thought I was the only one. Why make every song sound the same as the one before it? To me it just affirms that their singing voice can't be that great if they need a computer to do it for them.
I call it 'gayfish' music, after the South Park episode about Kanye West that took the p**s out of autotuning (amongst other things) at the end

Funny, I was going to start a thread saying the exact thing the other day.
I don't normally listen to the radio, but was listening to the galaxy chart the other day, and pretty much every song in the top 10 had stupid auto-tune effects. It's bloody annoying! |

Lady GaGa (omg and La Roux
![]() they are the worst offenders) has a lot of auto-tune, sadly, though she can actually sing. Britney does too, though she does not sound good live.

I really hate auto tunes
I like Gaga and she sure can sing but she needs to tone it down a bit with the autotunes I realised on the song Telephone how Beyonce didn't use auto tune for her part, i was glad that she opted out. |

Wonder would she sound like a wailing cat if she didn't use auto-tune? I think some of Britney's songs do have auto-tune but a lot of them don't. If you listen to her full albums there are some songs that don't use it and some of her ballads on the albums definitely don't use it.

I'm an old fart, but this video justifies the existence of Auto-Tune. |

As Christina Aguilera rightly put it herself - "Autotune is for pussies"

I really don't like auto-tune at all, never have. And, I can honestly say that we have never used it in any of our recordings, luckily we don't have to, our singer rarely misses a note and the bvs are quite short so my horrible voice doesn't get heard for too long
