Great news about Steve. He's got such a lovely warm tone to his voice. Terribly underated vocalist. One of the best from the XF, IMO.

Sarah, do you mean he wasn't acting like an arrogant diva? Is there a chance the press have got it wrong? SHOCK, HORROR....!!!

That's great for Steve. He's not the type of artist I go for, I will admit, but I do acknowledge his talent. He was so badly treated post X Factor, so it's nice to see him achieve something like this despite everything.

He does have a lot of fans, regardless of what the media tries to make people believe, I think he has an amazing voice, regardless of what is said about him from those that do not like him/ his singing / or the fact that he won.

There are many artists out there who are just starting out or who have been around for years, they arent my cup of tea, but just because I dont have an interest for them, doesnt mean I expect every one else to follow suit.

there is plenty of room in the musical word for everyone, people have varying degrees of success. liking an artist is a personal opinion, if we all liked the same thing Simon Cowell really would have world dominance rather than just thinking he does

Steve Brookstein, God help us , is he still around.I would not buy his music in a million years. Why am I not surprised.
That Welsh singer from the happy mondays should have done better that year , great singer that lady.
The winner should have been G- 4, fabulous singing.Brookstein winning was a joke and the public never took to him.
Cant believe he is still whining about it.Get over it Steve.

The public did actually take to him, and he is still doing tours and still very very popular. Let's put it this way, he has enough fans to fill the O2 Arena if he was ever to do a gig. He has got tour dates being lined up, and his hiatus was pretty much inforced due to the fact that Simon and he fell out over musical differences and he was dropped from the label because of it (not due to what the papers said, Steve isn't bitter at all and he was grateful for the opportunity and just felt he was never given the chance to express his love of music to his fans). He was never happy with his first album as he never had much creative control and wanted to release some of his own material, of which some was written I believe with his wife Eileen Hunter.

All the same, look out for the single early 2010 as it is a fantastic collaboration, and also look out for his wife's album, which by all accounts has been getting rave reviews from those who have listened to it, The Times and Jazz FM to name but 2. As soon as I hear from Steve and his gig dates i'll let you know.

You can find Steve both on Twitter and also on Facebook. He did also have a MySpace page with his own music on there, worth looking if he is still on it as his material is very good.
