Gethin would be good, but I am sure that if the show keeps going after Bruce, the BBC will put Grahame Norton in there, dont like him, but I would put money on it.

Matt really made me laugh on ITT, he was so funny! But I'm not sure he'd make a good presenter. And Gethin is nice but boring. Now, Julian Clary would be great... Him calling Craig "silly old queen" was one of my SCD greatest moments...
I think we've been fooled into thinking we need an older, Bruce-style figure to do the job because of Bruce's iconic status (like him or not, you can't deny the man's place in UK TV history).
TBH, the hardest part for a new presenter will be stamping their personality and style on a show that Bruce has made his own. Alesha is proof that stepping into someone's shoes is never an easy process (though not helped by her lack of experience in the area she was stepping into). So first and foremost I'd go for someone with decent presenting credentials, and enough strength of character to do things their way and not feel coerced into being anything they're not.

Yeah, kind of my thoughts to. I thought he was a good rugby player, but I don't think he comes over all that well on TV to be honest.
I like the idea of Gethin, however I would much prefer someone from the same sort of background as Bruce (But not so old) a song and dance man.
I was chatting to a non-dancing friend recently, who said she loved Strictly but wished they would get rid of that (I quote) "that ridiculous old codger" (Bruce) and get someone younger, more interesting, and better looking.
This really made me giggle, as the 'friend' in question is 92 next birthday,so clearly it's not just the youngsters who see Bruce as past it!

You obviously haven't seen him in some of his adventurous roles such as Danger Hunters. He is very interesting to my mind (and many others) and also gorgeous.
I don't understand people saying Gethin is boring! What do you want? Gethin is currently on Sky 1 with his own quiz show. Sky wouldn't have picked him if he was boring, would they?

Totally agree. He would be useless, has zero charisma and looks like gollum.
He is even useless at doing the commentary on the rugby, and I detest him on Question of Sport.

I think Gethin's a very pleasant young man, but to host a prime time, Saturday night, glitzy entertainment show, the host needs to be slightly larger than life and 'out there', so to speak. I don't think Gethin has that, and that's maybe why some call him 'boring' in the context of a replacement for Bruce?
Paul O'Grady would be superb, but that's never going to happen, unfortunately.

I never really got swept away with the Gethin love to be honest.
I wish he'd made the final as I much prefered him to Matt (Di Angelo), but I don't find him especially charismatic and he's not my type looks-wise.
