If Ali does go out it will be a great shame

Over the last couple of weeks though we had Lionel Blair, Michael Ball & Jason Manford all enthusing about Ricky. I think this week is more about the producers levelling the field. The guests this week picking their fave moments to me seemed so contrived.

It is a damned shame but I cannot see Ali being able to continue - the very fact that the injury happened on Monday, but the viewers were not told, implies it is very serious, IMO. A real shame for Brian if he has to withdraw.

And also a shame for the eventual winner - people will remember Jade having to leave (I think she would have made the final 3) and now possibly Ali.

Can't count. They had Zoe as well who went out in a silly public vote so thats the 4 females who might have been competitors all out or injured or both.

I don't think Ricky's got this in the bag.

Natalie and Chris are hugely popular and it's the public vote that counts in the final.

I think the contents of his blog might have contributed to some of the negativity directed towards him on this forum.

But, personally, I think it has much to do with how his partner, Natalie Lowe, came across at the beginning of the series.

Anyway, if Ali goes, along with the loss of Jade, Tuffers and Hingis, I'll probably lose interest.

In my opinion, Ali's not popular eniugh to win. She's another Rachel Stevens type.

I'd hazard a guess that Natalie & Chris are getting more votes anyway.

I don't think it's a forgone conclusion that Ricky will win if Ali has to pull out. We don't know how big his public vote is and he's never been placed low enough on the leaderboard for his popularity to be really tested. Ali's supporters may transfer their votes to Ricky or to Chris or not bother to vote at all. If Natalie is as popular with the public as with ITT then she could also win.

I have no problem with Ricky, great dancer and seems like a nice guy.

But Natalie Lowe? I wouldn't pick up the phone to satisfy her if my life depended on it!
(Okay, so maybe I was exaggerating a bit...)

If Ali goes, I really don't know what the point of the rest of this series is - it's been a total disaster right from pre-publicity. Worst SCD ever, and it's only getting worse.

Hopefully Laila will go this week (sorry, but after her er...'injury' and lack of training and seeming lack of care for anything other than ballroom I don't think she deserves to be here), and then we'll be left with Natalie and Chris who have fantastic personalities and partnerships but aren't really 'dancers', and then Ricky who is an amazing dancer but would be left alone without real competition.

Yep, total disaster.

Ricky could well win this year, but you can never reckon with the GBP! At present we have two dancers (Ricky and Ali - both of whom still make too many mistakes to be WOW material in week 11), two couples who fulfill the Strictly ideal of progressing from non-dancers to a reasonable standard (Chris and Nat - both popular in their way, Chris performs dances that entertain whilst to me Nat will never do so), and one couple that seem to just bumble through without acheiving anything! ( Laila and Anton of course!).

If Ali can't continue I'll just hope for a Ricky vs Chris final - the dancer vs the 'Strictly'Journey!

Ive discussed the Ricky-Hate with a lot of people on here and I can and totally do understand why people dont like him. But this forum isnt the be all and end all and note he has never been in a dance off yet.

If he doesnt win because people dont like his dance partner, then that is a great shame and also seems a little petty. Its not his fault regarding the way she acts and it would be great if people could see past her and see his dancing.

Hmm. But we vote for the couple, not just the celebrity, surely?

Except Chris hasn't had a journey. He started about where he is and slipped up and down in the weeks in between. The SCD journey stories like Darren, Mark, Gethin, even Matt all get a lot further and its a pleasing, even surprising progression. Even better you can do a Kelly on DWTS and move from poor to good with life changing changes to you on the way - audience in tears time. Chris hasn't gone anywhere or changed - he has just tried and brought out the best in Ola.

Chris v Ricky is strictly a bloke enough people can find a reason to vote for versus a bloke a lot of people can find a reason not to vote for.

Not necessarily.

I can only speak for myself but I tend to vote for the celeb I feel is the best dancer and not let my opinion of the professional get in the way.

Case in point: I voted for Alesha and Gethin...not really having an opinion on Matt and Camilla

I liked Lisa even though Brendan was an oiky little bad boy.

I liked Cherie even though for some inexplicable reason I couldnt stand James.

I think Natalie Lowe has been sticking pins in dolls of her rivals.

What a disaster perhaps we could start again and do this series better with hindsight.

That's fair enough Dr. B.

It's always been about the partnership for me, personally - and Tess tells us to vote for our favourite couple. I'm just saying that if people weren't voting for Ricky and Natalie because of Natalie (and if I did vote, then you'd probably have to count me amongst that number... ) then that strikes me as fair enough.

Oh absolutely Zan, I can understand why. I just think its a shame. If Ricky had been with a more likeable pro, then who knows how popular he would be on here?
I can understand people's dislike of Natalie, Ive not warmed to her at all and think her choreography has been a let down for Ricky. But I also think it is to Ricky's credit that he is so complimentary and supportive of her, given that she isnt as exuberant as some of the other pros and seems to be a tough taskmaster.

Ricky isn't my fav but actually that's one of the things I admire him for. He seems like a decent bloke and very supportive to everyone on the show.

Erm... I don't much either - I actually find the Matthew love on here a bit baffling...

He seems lovely, but I can't enthuse about him. He wouldn't actively put me off voting for a partnership, but he wouldn't make me vote for them either...

Oh sorry Abba, I should have said I 'used to' not have an opinion on Matt.

I now am fully aware that he is the Zeus of the Dance World!!!! Not only stunning but a scintillating dancer.

Im going to the tour with my hubby and his family in January and MrBol has already said he's sitting me on the end of the row so I dont scare my mother-in-law with my squeals when Matthew walks onto the floor *drools*

What I love about Matthew is that whilst he's one of the more quiet pros, he lets his dancing do the talking, and the boy can dance!

A bit like Ramps.

Ali's not out, she can have a bye this week.
Still, expect some "ratings chasing drama" from the BBC.
