Well, there is that! Nonetheless, it would engage public interest - and goodness knows, the show needs it!

Rules state that if the celeb chooses not to dance then he/she is out, but if the beeb's physio/medics forbid her to dance, then she should get a bye through to the following week (as Jade did - it was just unfortunate she didn't recover).

They considered doing that after Jimmy Tarbuck left, but the remaining contestants rebelled against the idea, which led to the first ever dance off to fill up the extended results show, and then a two person final.

It could cause controversy with the new focus on phone voting, as we needn't have bothered phoning to save our favourites if they were going to get another chance to be in the contest.

What they could consider is bringing back a contestant from a previous series who left too soon- eg Gabby, Spoony, Austin... at this rate it's probably the only way that we're going to see some decent dancing in the final.

I'm not sure this years' celebs are in a position to rebel about anything if Ali is out. The show would have to be rescued - so any sensitivities would have to be put on a back boiler.

As for bringing Austin back - oh, yes please. That would really put the cat amongst the pigeons.

Pipe dreams though, I suspect.

It certainly would!!!!
I'd deffo be up for it
Mind there would be the slight problem of a stroke if he didn't win this time

I wonder if he's been limbering up for the 2010 tour?

It would be sweet justice if he took on the 'Class of '09' and won, though.

Ah - dreams.........

If they had to bring someone back from a previous series it would have to Kelly she left not through injury or elimination

I know what they are going to do...

Dust off Erin's dummies and enter them as a couple.

Mind you knowing their luck the stiching would come unstuck and all the stuffing would fall out and they would be given a bye into the quarter final.

I'd quite happily watch Colin sitting in the middle of the dance floor stitching them both back together. He wouldn't even need to dance with them - I'd vote to keep him in.

I bet its no dance off and no elimination as they are new dancers saying they are doing it to get a three person final (if Ali pulls out a 2 person final)

If they were going to bring back an ex-contestant who had to leave then Kelly Brook would probably be the most appropriate choice as she wasn't eliminated and left at around about this stage of the competition.

I reckon whoever they brought back though would have a very high chance of being voted off the week they went in so you could find they'd be reluctant to return.

I reckon there'd be an insurrection amongst any couples still left standing if Kelly was brought back - she'd be more than capable of winning. Mind you, she's another one that may well have started training for the 2010 tour, so who knows?
