I'm a big Claudia fan and I think that's just who she is and we have to accept that.

Hang on!

Ali has a badly bruised foot. She had a scan yesterday morning and.... no break, no ligament tear.
Brian was being just a teenie bit of a drama queen, but that's love for you.

Claudia would have been well aware of the situation, she'd have been briefed before hand, he wasn't telling her anything she didn't know already (do people out there not know how TV works?)
She was just trying to get him to "lighten up a bit" about it, but he wouldn't play ball.

Conversely, Ian after Jade's injury was totally the opposite and could manage a smile despite the more serious circumstances.

To quote La Winkelman, when she said Woohoo I wanted to tear my eye out and feed it to my dog. What is she on?

Totally agree.

People here are acting like someone is paralysed for life and Claudia was laughing and whooping.

Poor Claudia, I guess its her turn to be torn apart. I am sorry Ali has hurt her foot but it's bruised (painful as that is) and not seriously damaged and much as I like Brian he was being overly dramatic.

No he wasn't. It's not his style. Ali danced with an injured foot before (twice) and neither her nor Brian made any fuss about it.

Her behaviour was so out of kilter with poor Brian and how he was feeling... he even said at one point "I'm shaking" and she just ploughed on with the "I feel like going Woo Hoo" and so on.

She's normally so in tune with all the celebs and pro's and that is her loveable, heart on her sleeve character, that everyone loves. She just didn't appear to know how to deal with Brian

Totally bizzare.... not her finest moment indeed.

Maybe not so much get him to lighten up but more to lighten the mood.... keep acting crazy so he wouldn't dissolve in front of the camera.

I personally didn't feel she was being crass, she was being positive in her own weird and wacky way.

A fine way of putting how Claudia reacted, and I was cringing at the Wooo Hooo.

I'm sure Claudia would have been fawning over Vincent, if it had been Natalie. Ohhhh heck the chosen one has hurt herself ..... send a camera crew to the hospital, she can act her way through it.

Brian was lovely on tonight's show. Of course it means a lot to him ..... it's his career. Good luck to them, hope it all ends well and they are still in the competition on Dec 5th.

She behaves like a lunatic half the time anyway - for the other half there is a semblance of sanity. Is anyone really surprised at the way she carried on in that interview? I wish the BBC would rein her in.

I thought it was a bizarre interview and I felt sympathy for Brian. It was uncomfortable to watch.

Maybe she was learning from Tess' comforting technique on Saturday?

"So Jade, you have this horrible injury, how do you feel being out of the competition? *Under her breath* "Cry, you bitch, cry!"

Seriously, that was a very strange interview - maybe the 'awwww' effect had been used up on Monday with Ricky and Jade and she couldn't use anymore? I doubt whether she's used to dealing with interviewing just one person in such a distressed state before - so decided to go with what she knew best. Unfortunately, maybe not the time or place for it.

It was not good, but I got the impression that she didn't quite realise the extent of the situation. I also think she was desperately attempting to cheer Brian up and failing.

It was a bit of a bizarre interview and I think Claudia acted the way she did because as the interview went on, it looked it me as if Brian was about to start crying and she was trying to stop that from happening to the guy on live TV.

He was quite collected at the start and then he leant forward when the clip of what happened was shown. As he continued to describe what had happened since the accident he started to get a bit choked and at about 5 minutes into the show he paused and said he was actually shaking and I think that was when he started to lose it a bit.

He is a very emotional guy, I remember him being tearful on ITT last year when it was his birthday and they had a clip of his family wishing him a happy birthday and saying how much they missed him. He is obviously close to Ali and very upset, but I think people are being too hard on Claudia tbh.

I think she would have been more sympathetic if Ali had been there as she was for Jade (Mind you Jade had more at stake than a dance show with the Olympics two years away).

She seems to get on really well with Brian and Ali - normally on ITT Brian is always happy and enjoying the show so maybe she just didn't know how to react to a side she never seen of Brian. Also Brian and Ali were supposed to be on tomorrow night show and it was changed last minute.”

That's kind of how I read it as well.

Not her finest hour but really thought she was trying to look on the brightside and cheer Brian up but ended up getting it all a bit wrong.

I think she can deal with genuine emotion, she did really well with Jade at the time of her injury, and I don't think she was being purposively crass I just don't think she expected Brian to get as upset and be quite so pessimistic about them dancing on Saturday so went off on one a bit trying to be positive for him.

I'm certainly not Claudia's greatest fan, but I felt rather sorry for her as she was clearly out of her depth. I suspect her flippant and almost jocular responses to Brian's distress stemmed from panic and her inability to think on her feet and replace 'zany mode' with a little genuine sincerity and empathy.

It's a live show - the producer/director must have had some VT of the pre-recorded sections ready to run - it would have been so simple for her to have clasped his hand and said something along the lines of 'I'm sorry, Brian, I can see you're too upset to talk right now'.

I think she felt more connected (probably wrong word) to Jade - and possiby even Laila's - injury because she was there when it happened and saw it unfold in 'real life' whereas the Ali injury was a VT and there is also Brian there saying that scans have already happened and the worst case scenarios have already been ruled out. Not to say what Ali has isn't bad enough, just that most people hear 'not a fracture' and 'not a tear' and breathe a sigh of relief.

Claudia, as well, is used to 'normal' Strictly injuries where there is a scare early on in the week, positivity is the order of the day, much strapping up and physio occurs and dancing goes ahead on Saturday. Someone actually missing a scoring dance through injury is extremely rare ... until Jade I can't remember it happening before. Kate missed a group dance but not a scoring one ... Bill didn't miss any, if I remember right, and Jimmy just withdrew ... to have the possibility of 2 such injuries within the space of 2 weeks is unheard of. Claudia may even have been told to play it down for the audience but Brian was too invested and upset to go along with it.

I know , it is very sad that Ali has injured herself , but its not life threatening , or career threatening

I just feel that I want to shake both her and Brian and say get a grip, behave with a little dignity and courage !

In fairness, what's Ali done wrong - bar not turning up on It Takes Two but that could simply be because she had a prior appointment (they had switched the days of the interview after all). It was Brian breaking down on It Takes Two, Ali wasn't even there, and we don't know anything about her attitude/outlook/courage - that's bar when she danced through the pain a couple of weeks back.

How do you know how she is acting? She wasn't on ITT.

Both Ali and Brian conducted themselves admirably when she hurt her foot last time and danced twice in one night. This time it must be pretty serious for Brian to act that way.

Well no in fairness I dont know how she is acting , but certainly her spokes person was overly dramatic and so I feel if she knew he was gonig to be like that and she disagreed with it , she should have ensured he behaved better !

I do have sympathy with them but certainly feel brian was OTT and as the spokesman for the couple sadly by implication I feel ali is being OTT

If she comes on now making a bit lighter over it or behaves with some diginity and perspective them I will obviously feel different about it!

In what way is Ali not behaving with dignity or courage? She wasn't there and at present she can't walk. It is Brian's career and he has enough emotion for what many posters have been saying Ali lacks. Reading between the lines, you seem to be saying that it isn't so serious for them as it was for Jade. They have worked hard and anyone would be gutted if they have to pull out now. Maybe the show is now asking too much of celebs.

Dont read beteen the lines I am not saying that at all. I am saying that her injury is not as serious as jade's nor as career threatening , but IF and it is a very big IF she has to pull out then of course it would be as bad as Jade having to pull out

I felt brian went OTT and by implication as he was her spokes person I feel Ali reaction is OTT as well ( which is probably unfair of me as she may feel very different to Brian)
