Anyone in their 50s now was , at the oldest born in 1950 and would have been 5 when R and R took off .
The 50 somethings were teenagers in the late 60s and early 70s .
I have taught jazz age History and there is quiet a bit of black and white footage around of Charleston .
Ad I understand it , swing came first , out of that developed Lindy hop in the 30s and then boogie woogie and R and R .
I can 't see any of these dances attracting younger viewers who aren't already interested in dance.
