They should have got Ricky Groves, as last celeb to be voted out, in training, the minute that Ali injured herself, just in case she's unable to dance on Saturday.

In fact new rule......the last celeb voted out, goes back into training for the following week just in case there are injuries
it's not rocket science!!!!!! *dont feel better now*”

Mrs F - I totally agree with all of that "rant".

It seems that not only are the producers asleep, they have very short memories and also are not aware of their own rules that are now in place to allow for such problems. To describe them as incompetent is being kind to incompetents.

Has the Doctor said she will be ok to dance on it? I didnt hear that statement on ITT last night.

I don't get this. Last night Ali couldn't walk, and now the Daily Heil says this:

"She is going back to the doctors tomorrow and they have advised that she should be fine to dance on Saturday."

Isn't there a non-sequitur here: doctors tomorrow -> they have advised ? Has the Heil got the same source as the hero of Paradox?

Edit: Just read the original article and, surprise surprise, it cites its sources thus: "Insiders say..." "A source on the show said..."

Do I hear the sound of stirring? I believe Brian any day over this snotrag.

It is stated in the DS report thus:

Quote:
“A source said: "She has badly bruised her foot during training and has been ordered to rest.

"She is going back to the doctors tomorrow and they have advised that she should be fine to dance on Saturday."”

http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/strictly...ot-injury.html

However, it is from the Daily Wail ..... so perhaps we should be a little sceptical.

No, it says that she is going back to the doctors, so that clearly implies that she had previously been (and I presume that is when they said that she should be OK).

It says the doctors have advised that she should be ok to dance on Saturday, not that she will be. And, as you say, it's the Daily Fail quoting an "inside source". I think I'll wait for the official SCD updates.

The scenarios are

1. Ali is given a bye and they eliminate one of the other dancers. Ali comes back next week.
2. Ali is given a bye but they do not eliminate anyone this week. Everyone comes back next week.
3. Ali can not dance for two weeks meaning she has to leave. This will either force the BBC to have one week without an elimination or to bring back an eliminated contestant as they will not end the series one week early.

How do they bring back an eliminated contestant? Do they offer a return to a celebrity going back each week until someone says yes.. this would mean whoever is eliminated this week has first option of returning, then Ricky G etc. Or do they set up a public vote where the public can bring back one couple?

In which case the show will be two couples down

IMHO I think they've missed the chance to bring back an eliminated contestant mainly because there have been two eliminations since she was able to dance.

So it wouldn't be fair on Phil if they brought Ricky back because he should really have replaced her in the week that they pulled out, and it wouldn't be fair on Ricky if they brought Phil back because he beat Phil in the dance off.

I think the only thing we can be sure of is controversy and heated debate on the forums whatever it is they decide to do

If Ali can't dance this week, then about the only thing that won't cause controversy is if they have no voting and no eliminations this week and just keep it as a show wee.

I agree that is pretty much their only option

I do reckon that some people will probably find something to complain about though

No point inviting back any celebrity already voted out, they'll all be in rehearsals for Panto.

And if Ricky is charged with an offence.... the BBC may feel forced to withdraw him from the competition.

Just my two cents...

I volunteer to step into the breach, I'm not famous (so no probs there), can't dance, but lurve Strictly.

I could dance with Ian or Matthew and meet Claudia - I'm gone now, a little glittery world of my own.

I don't think getting an eliminated couple back is going to be a viable option for the BBC. I remember all the problems Big Brother had with a similar thing, and I don't think, with everything else going on, that Beeb will want to add more controversy into the mix.

I had the thought that the show could go on hiatus for a couple of weeks. The producers and participants can sort out all messes, anomolies and the like and the situation is fair for everyone.

I'm sure the BBC would love to close down their flagship saturday night entertainment program just in the run up to Xmas....

It's one of the better options they've got right now...

Big Brother - you vote to eliminate.

Strictly - you vote to save.

Hence the problems with BB bringing back someone who people had voted off.

Fair nuff. I haven't actually watched BB in years, but I thought they'd changed the voting so you'd vote to save as they'd had all the scandal way back in series 2 for people trying to fix the voting to get people out.

Trouble is, with some of the people out there with the PCC on speed dial, whatever they do, they're probably damned.
