Every year a contestant sings a song and it makes me fall in love with the original all over again. This year it has been 'Last Request' and 'Sweet Child o' Mine'; both sky rocketing in plays on my iTunes.

Last year I discovered Listen and the MJ night reintroduced me to his music, as well as discovering a lot of songs I hadn't heard before of his. (On a side note, on American Idol Allison introduced me to 'Give In To Me' which is now one of my favourite songs).

So what songs that contestants, past or present, have sung have made you become (re)obsessed with the original?

I always hope that no one on X Factor ever sings my favourite songs - it is inevitable they will slaughter them and ruin them for ever.

When Ruth sang Love Ain't Here Anymore last year, I totally forgot hhow much I loved it!!

Cheryl Cole - Fight For This Love...I was stunned by her performance on X Factor and since buying the album I have been extremely impressed...my album of the year so far...

When Ruth sang 'Always' It reminded me of how much I loved that song, and it also reminded me of when Sam from pop idol 2 got voted out

Beyonce's appearance last year turned me into a huge fan. Used to never care about her stuff at all and thought she was over rated and a cheap R'nB artist but THAT performance plus the duet with Alexandra () made me fall in love with her and now her five UK singles are occupying five of my top ten played songs on iTunes and she's now one of my favourite artists.

The biggest one for me was tThe conways doing Total Eclipse in Series 2, because it became my boot camp audition song in Series 4

This year I have got to knoe few good ones too...Don't Stop Believing i one, and I knew You Are Not Alone previously but I am obsessed with it now! I lso liked Back to Blaxk anyway but have played it more recently...

Shame about casyr from the live aditions murdering No Air, one of my all time favourites!
