Ok well if that was yesterday I doubt she did any training as ITT almost seemed to want to suggest.

Why must the BBC play out this charade, it just undermines what Brian said on Wednesday and clearly all is not well with Ali.

She's not my favourite but I think it's a bit shocking that last night I got the impression she was well on the road to recovery but she isn't. I'd have felt a right prune if I were Brian watching last night and comparing it to Wednesday, I'd feel a bit let down.

Wednesday.....Brian destraught on ITT Ali really badly injured and we all thought they were a definate gonner.

Thursday.....no talk of any injury on ITT and VT of training footage of Ali being upbeat and training and talking about a 'sprained ankle' as though it was not really anything.

Friday......Now this...pictures in the papers of her on crutches and seemingly completely unable to walk let along dance.

I am confused

I think ITT were presuming that their viewers are regulars, (which they mostly are) knew the situation and so only showed the training footage they had so far. With no new news on her injury there's no point in going on about it.

I didn't find anything particularly untoward - it was obvious to me that it was the training they'd done earlier in the week.

I'd obviously take anything in the Mail article with a large pinch of salt because they have the number of training hours wrong...

I will admit to being a bit irritated by posts here saying she just bruised her foot or it's just a bit of bruising. Bruising bone is much much more painful than brusing skin. It hurts lots . Bone pain is really nasty.

Jade leaving was bad enough (wanted her to win) but Ali is the only one who can match Ricky and Natalie (they'll explode if they don't win, would be great to see). Last year suffered from no WOW dances, this series the contestants are dropping like flies. Not enjoyable.

I want to run out and buy her one of those warm fluffy cosy slipper socks , she makes me shiver looking at her toes.

Why did ITT mislead us ?? I am confused and why did Claudia play along and not say the footage was prior to Ali injury ??

She may not dance this Saturday, doesn't mean she won't be fit to dance next week...


They didn't. At no point did they say it was meant to be after Ali's injury. IMO it was clear it was before it and they were showing what training footage they had.

First thing I thought when I saw the pictures was she'll be suffering from frostbite too if she's not careful. Why on earth doesn't she have any cover on that foot? Is it very warm in the UK at the moment?

I think they must be saving it for an announcment on the main show same as Jade. So now we have Jade out, Ali at least probably not dancing on Saturday and Ricky W dancing on an injury. Natalie could win this thing. I might put some money on. Seriously though it means we are unlikely to have many stunning dances if it goes on like this.

I'd be much more inclined to believe ITT than the Mail. But then, until the couples actually come out on Saturday, then I'll believe whether she can dance or not.

From the footage, Ali is wearing the same top she was wearing the day of the accident, so I think the training footage was taken from the same day. Plus, Ali talking about a sprain ties in with Brian saying they didn't think it was that serious/didn't know it was brusing of the bone until they went to the hospital the next morning and got it properly checked out.

Poor Ali. I suspect she's out of the competition, although I really hope now.

I am absolutely convinced that ITT is not LIVE and that it is pre-recorded a day before and some sections even longer before than that.

I am basing this on the Remembrance poppies which seem to have been worn all of the week following Remembrance Sunday and the fact that they have to juggle Len's contributions around his being abroad for a part of each week.

There does seem to have been a a marked lack of synchronisation between actual events and ITT events this year. Perhaps the numerous injuries have shown it up more?

And they have a track record of distorting time e.g. last years "live" Sunday show.

It would be unfair to make her dance such a punishing dance with such an injury and no training IMO.

Some sections are pre-recorded if it isn't possible to do them live but the rest is live.

I've been to an ITT show so I've seen it.

The article is dated yesterday morning so possibly the photo was taken Wednesday or Tuesday. Think/hope this is the case of a newspaper not being up to date with the latest news - not for the first time

There surely isn't going to be an elimination this week. Seeing that, its inconceivable to think Ali could dance anything on Saturday, let alone the Charleston after having seen ITT yesterday

OP, could you not have worded your title a little better? 'Latest position on Ali and Brian' made me think of a completely different type of thread, but maybe that's just my mind.
