If it was just he'd failed or refused a breath test, then he should have been charged by now.
The fact that it is "dragging on" is likely because at the moment the police don't think they've yet got enough evidence to charge him on the assault, so they may be waiting to be in a position to hit him with more than one charge.
What name??

Rock and Roll is wild and furious. Maybe he drove over the pap because he was concentrating so hard in staying in character. It could signify that it will be a great dance.

Do we think Bhoy1888 has been in Liverpool trying to scupper Ricky.

What a load of rhubarb, a pap jumps in front of his car and the police arrest Ricky?

Pap should be arrested for being a public nuisance.

On BBC news now

Apparently a decision will be made later today on what it means for tomorrow's show.

BBC report his further participation in SCD is in doubt.

Depending on the seriousness of the circumstances of the incident which we have no idea about really, I think that Ricky will either dance and that will be the end of it as far as Strictly is concerned....or.....he will asked to withdraw himself or risk being sacked from the show.

I think he is a goner. The BBC are not very forgiving.
Probably some idiot jumped out in front of his car.

BBC say "they'll make an announcement about his future participation later."

So we've to wait until IT2 is on and then Claudia will say that she's announcement to make regarding Ricky Whittle, ....long pause accompanied by dramatic music?

That's the usual routine.

Well hopefully Claude can update us tonight, or is that wishful thinking.

Only if he is charged lucymane. Innocent until proven guilty. They didnt sack Anton for something most people would have been sacked for (offensive language in the work place) as opposed to a RTC away from work involving a pap who has brought similar charges against a prev celeb before and dropped them. I smell a rat and it aint on Ricky...

It depends on the charges, if any, doesn't it? If they include leaving the scene, failing or failing to supply a breath test and/or failing to report an accident, I think he's a gonner...If it's more straightforward and is just a case of some idiot stepping in front of the car with nothing else to consider it shouldn't be a problem. It's not encouraging that he's still in custody though.

The BBC have a big problem, if he's charged and they sack him.
If then after Strictly's run is finished, the case is heard and he's found not guilty....

Well atleast Ali's able to compete now.

Just been on the BBC news and here's a quote taken from there which was taken from her tweet!
Quote:
“"I'm really glad to be off crutches..have returned to rehearsals. My aim is to dance on Sat night & give it my best shot."”

But at this rate we'll be left with only 4 couples (if Ricky pulls out or isnt able to compete) and I wouldnt be surprised if Natalie emerges the winner!

I thought you were the voice of reason on here and not given to speculation without access to facts?

Liverpool didn't suspend Gerrard while he was up on assault charges...why should the BBC do anything about this?! If he is charged the court case won't be for months and it could collapse or he could be found innocent so for the BBC to do anything imo is wrong. It would have been diff if it was something more serious but it aint.

You know nothing about the pap, or why he dropped the charges against Gascoigne. They were not fabricated, he had injuries. And because Whittle is on SCD, he should just walk free from deliberately driving his car at someone?

I have to say I am with you Stu.....I hope I am wrong for strictlys sake but I have a bad gut feeling about it.

I don't think we should either rush to his defence or condemn him until we know more. But I agree with the sympathy for the producers - who'd have thunk it? We hate them usually, don't we?

A bit off topic, but there have been mentions of stepping on rakes and banana skins - am I the only person in the world to achieve the great triumvirate of being hit in the face by a rake I stood on, falling on my backside as a result of slipping on a banana skin and walking into a lampost?

Knowing how klutzy I am, both of the friends I was with at the time started to make jokey remarks about banana skins as soon as they spotted it lying in the street . Sadly, they weren't in time for me to stop me fulfilling my slapstick fate.

Do you think they have behaviour clauses written into their contracts. For an family orientated show I would be surprised if they didn't.

We don't know the full details of the incident yet but this casts another shadow on series 7.

I think that with all the drama this week ITT should really step up tonight, address the issues and give the viewers straight answers. I would hate to tune in tonight and it be business as normal and 'we'll let you know tomorrow'.
