You seen BTs web adverts?

Ive just seen a advert for BT saying "Tiscali customers forced to move to Carphonewarehouse?"

This was on the Blemish.com website, saying "make a choice move to BTs outstanding Broadband"

Bit cheeky me thinks, i have to say i dont feel like i have a gun held to my head forcing me to stay with tiscali/talktalk, im actually pleased that a company has stepped in to keep the service going and hopefully improve on what is already in my eyes a great service.

I wouldn't put anything past BT in their efforts to retain business - on a weekly basis I receive at least one piece of marketing literature from BT's sales department exhorting me to return to them.

They are addressed variously to me, "The Occupier" or "The Householder" and on one occasion even informed me that I would be better off leaving Virgin and returning to BT.

Now, given that there is no cable television in our local area, leaving Virgin would be quite a feat..

I got so fed up with all this junk mail because we are on the Mailing Protection List & choose not to receive unsolicited cr*p and after much to-ing & fro-ing got through to someone at BT who assured me that our address would be removed from their marketing database within 48 hours.

Two weeks later we are still getting the same old stuff through the door so I think it's time for another call to BT..

To be honest, all this is just making it ever more unlikely that I shall 'come back to BT' & unless Virgin do get the go ahead to start digging up the roads around here (incredibly unlikely) or the trees which surround our house miraculously disappear allowing us an unfettered view of Murdoch's satellites (even more unlikely) I shall be remaining with Tiscali/Talk Talk as it is a far better service, TV-wise than BT Vision (in my very humble opinion).

Yours, ever so slightly peeved (and with apologies for the slight hi-jack).

David.
