Not all of us think that Ali was better than Chris.
But if Alesha did, surely she should mark her higher?

Damn you Zan make a good point though in mitigation the poster said Ali was better, implying that this is an irrefutable fact when it is simply subject to opinion.

I didn't state it as a fact, I was making the same point as Zan. Craig, Alesha and Len all thought Ali was better than Chris. We know this because they all gave her 1 point more than they gave to Chris. I happen to agree with them but I can see why others may not - Chris and Ola's routine was very crowd pleasing even if it was not at the same level technically.

I know, I'm only playing. Personally I do think it was better than Chris', but all this... controversy seems to have come out of nowhere in my opinion - all the charlestons were bloody good!

But Craig did say he would mark on what he saw - which imo was worth far more than 3.
Oh I agree. Craig's 3 was like Alesha's 10. Ridiculous.

Such an entertaining dance - I think the RnR performers were at a disadvantage.

I think so, too.

I found Chris's dance much more entertaining, and will remember it for a lot longer

I did feel Ali was given far more lee way for her injury than any other competitor...

Chris & Ola's seemed to have far more content, lifts etc....

Also Ali just stood there for 25% of the dance with her arms waving.... just not the same fun factor or content....

But then, what do I know!
I don't hink it should be judged on content - it was choreographed by someone other than Ola from what I could gather and as such for me the content was irrelevant. I was looking at how it was danced and imho Ali did a better job techincally than Chris. Ola outdanced Chris by far - I was watching her for most of the dance which suggests to me he was lagging behind her in entertianment value. With Ali and Brian however I was watching Ali most of the time and for me she danced it much better than Chris did.

We were given to understand that both pros and celebs were taught the steps and the pro then choreographed the dance.

The part I remember is them rolling along the floor at the end. I'm surprised Len liked it as it reminded me of Darren Gough's caterpillar.

It is a recognised Charleston move.

The Swim
A comedic floor based move where the man lays on his back, with the woman laying on her front on top of him. Her head should be at his knees, and the man then moves across the floor, and the woman springs up moving her arms as if swimming.

That's OK, don't mind different points of view, especially those put in a lighthearted way

Chris and Ola for me if nothing else because it made me smile and the two of them looked the part more somehow maybe it's the shortness of stature (speaking as a shorty)

Ali's make up scared me a bit

It was a nod towards Roxie Hart's They Both Reached For The Gun routine from Chicago.

Isn't TBRFTG Roxie's number, not Velma's?

Haha, I just saw the time now! Will try and give people time to edit in future!

Actually, it's Billy's number, but Roxie's... performance, as it were.

It was her make up I meant really. A few people were saying it was awful last night and I thought then, even before they danced, that she looked like Roxie from that number. Then when she danced I saw what they had done. I thought it was clever.

I'm not going to go into it, but I certainly did not!

Oh, yes, I know what you mean - I just didn't want someone to come and out-pedant me!

We all enjoyed Chris and Ola's performance better than Brian and Ali last night.
I watch Ali and can see she dances well, but somehow it leaves me a little bit uninspired. I don't know what it is about the way she dances, but it lacks something in terms of performance. I think maybe that's why her waltzes etc seem to be her strength, she does elegant and ladylike very well, it's the more comedic elements that seem to fall flat.

The judges seem to favour Ali. Whilst everybody else slips up and gets marked down for it, Ali can do no wrong.

Alesha also needs replacing ASAP. Chris's group dance was worth more than a 7, and Ali's group dance was NOT perfect by any means. Also, what criteria does Alesha have to judge a dance she has never performed before?

Absolute joke.
I completely disagree. Ricky gets over marked despite mistakes. His scores haven't improved since the first week, while everyone elses has.

OP - I think Ali's dance was far and away the better dance. Although I do love Chris.

I guess personal feelings can cloud judgement.
