I didn't actually watch last night so I wasn't in a position to judge whether he was joking or not, but I did see him quite recently somewhere else and thought he looked a bit bloated then.

By the way cortisone is a steroid in case you didn't know.

Stephen Fry doesn't look well either.

Poor guy, I thought he was great in the 2004 series and am surprised that he's doing the tour given he's been ill.

Miss Poppy, he did the tour earlier this year.

And we still haven't established whether he's really been ill or whether the stick was part of a character, and the Sun are just making stuff up.

He has lost far too much weight and now looks saggy and old.

What leg problem has he got? You wouldnt be on long term steroids due to a injury, they're normally reserved for long-term chronic autoimmune diseases due to the multitude of side effects and only used as 'anti-inflammatories' in chronic joint problems such as rheumatoid arthritis (not osteoarthritis which is the 'wear and tear' arthritis).

Of course he's joking! He's also laughing at his own injury/illness, whichever it is. Very admirable in my book.

Where's drbolognaise when you need her for a consultation?”

Sorry tonydancer, I didnt see your post! What is it you want to know? Bloatedness/weight gain etc are one of the many side effects steroid treatments can have. They are not pleasant drugs but are very effective if used correctly.

So Dr B what is wrong with him, bless him he looked dreadful. I need to know. No good giving us the cure unless we know what is wrong.
