An 'almost' non controversial performanace from Ms Dixon tonight!

What's happened to Alesha tonight ?

Perfect use of grammar - no 'you was's' that I noticed.
No overly negative personal comments - in fact mostly fair
Only 1 minor over excited use of the 10 paddle

Has someone had a word ? Has she finally settled into the role ? Or does she just not care anymore because she's off to the states to become another Mariah Carey.

I'm not bashing her, I just felt she was somewhat subdued tonight. In fact I think all the judges were. Barring the Craig/Len hooha it was all very understated.

Think "Uncle Lennie" had a quiet word

I wonder whether Len and Bruno were a bit disappointed that the best dancer (by marks) didn't win Dancing with the Stars, and have come back and realised the same thing could happen here too.

Dug this gem out of La Dixons coments about Nat C's rock & roll dance

" I was a little distracted because it became a tad clumsy. When you came through Vincent's legs, I would have liked them to have been closed"

She still managed to give a 10 to her friend for a mediocre routine.
Which was really a muppet giving top marks to a puppet..no offence to Ali, she was just acting the part.

Vincent's legs? Then how was she supposed to go through them?

DWTS had a better choice though . Kelly had a really big journey story and the judges were proud of her. Mya danced well but they had some reservations and she had much more experience than anyone here. Donny was a showman and his best performances were credible and getting really good marks. The UK choice is starker there isn't someone in the middle with all qualities and they would have difficulty explaining how some people won.

I think Jade was the closest option there - it's a shame she's injured now.

Chris is closest to being both a show dancer and a credible dancer. He isn't dreadful - I think he's around the same standard as Darren Gough was at this stage. The difference being that Darren came further on his journey to get to this point.

Oh DO give over with the Alesha bashing!!

I love Natalie Cassidy - she has been the only person we have voted for this season. Last week we were in the studio audience, and after voting for Natalie and Vincent my daughter sat on the phone to make sure her aunt and uncle didn't vote for Ricky W. Anyway, anyone old enough to remember Willo the Wisp?? Cartoons with Kenneth Williams doing the voices. Does Nat C remind anyone else of Mavis Cruet?

Er...have you seen /heard the photos and video of her that appeared in the press this week - complete with gestures and bleepings-out? I should think she would be subdued after that exposure of the "star" of SCD. And after the further scandal of another star of SCD being arrested etc, would you not expect the whole of SCD, including judges, to be somewhat abashed and subdued?

Oh Tabby - what more can I say but - 'Oh Tabby.'

Closed legs - open legs - guess it depends on the circumstances.

Did I really say that?

So after spending weeks moaning about how Alesha overmarks Ricky, the bashers have now assumed that she's showing favouritism to Ali. Pathetic!
She marks 'em as she sees 'em, but she sees ' em with an inexperienced eye, that's all.

And she was absolutely right! it was indeed clumsy. Even in the dance off poor Nat couldn't pull that off.

I have never said she over-rated Ricky, previously I just thought she was over-generous with her 10 paddle.
Last night was different for me, I simply cannot understand how she could have rated Ali and Brian's Charleston so highly..and a lot of people on here seem to agree. Was it "favouritism" ?..perhaps not, it was more likely to be a tactical vote to ensure the "best" get through to the final.
In her position, I might have done the same..but I don't think questioning the way she apparently "sees em " is pathetic if her marking appears to be odds with the majority.

I don't agree, surprise, surprise, and I think your "majority" is the existing Cola fan club. I thought Chris & Ola's dance was a great crowd pleaser, while Ali & Brian's was a great judge pleaser. What you're underrating is the ragdoll-comes-alive storytelling, as well as the great amount of classic Charleston moves that their choreography included. As Bruno said, it reminded of the original flavour of that dance. I don't think that Jacqueline Baker would have been proud of it, but she would sure have enjoyed watching it.

That said, I don't dismiss Team Cola's attempt, and didn't Ola look like "to die for"? Unfortunately for Laila, Anton (unlike Ola) didn't compromise his own performance slightly, in order to really "partner" the celeb. So however good Laila was, she couldn't match Anton, and the judges noticed her shortcomings more than with the other two Charlestons.
