Dances in the final
Assuming the format of the final is the same with best latin/ best ball room, a dance to judges choice of music and the show dance I was wondering whether the charlestone would be counted as a ballroom dance and rock n roll as a latin. Thinking more of Chris as he would almost certainly use the charlestone as his ballroom if this was the case.

Charleston won't be allowed. Same as Argentine Tango I should think.

Even if Charleston is allowed. I'd actually prefer Chris to do his Foxtrot again in the final for his ballroom. And as crazy as it sounds, his Jive for latin. I know it is actually his lowest scoring dance so far, but we were told how great it was in training. So it would be nice to see it without mistakes.
At any rate, if he makes it as far as the final, i'm sure Ola will cherograph his showdance into a Charleston type dance, like Camilla did for Tom last year. |

I think if Chris reached the final he'd do the Foxtrot and Rumba.
Like others, I'm not sure if the Charleston or Rock n Roll will be allowed to be repeated in the final simply because they're hard to classify. The Charleston particularly - it's not really ballroom after all, but neither is it exactly Latin. |

Because the Charleston is neither Latin or Ballroom. Same as Argentine Tango.

My guess is that the Charleston would be treated as Latin as it is out of hold.
If Chris and Ola gets to the final I can't see any reason they couldn't do Fat Sams again. It's not the same as the AT which is a traditional semi-final dance. |

Last year, they were required to do the two of the ten dances (1 Latin, 1 ballroom) that they scored most highly. I thiiiiiiiiiiiiink that in previous years they were able to choose - but again, only from the ten dances. None of the speciality dances are allowed, I don't think.

Do they have to do the same routine of their 'best' dance, or can they tweek it if necessary?

Tweak. Like Lisa tweaked her Cha Cha Cha because Craig didn't like the ending the first time. For eg I assume if Laila is there they will remove the lifts from her Paso Doble.

Maybe they can class the argentine tango, charlestone and rock n roll as alternatives so they have ballroom, latin and alternatives and they can choose 2 categories to take there dance from.

There is usually a VW in the final but they've done it as group and individual dance. I can't imagine them doing it again in the final.
