Doesn't it say something that the first week ricky and Natalie aren't safe with the judges vote, they are in the bottom 2?

I dunno I think it was a week where Ricky's high standard dipped slightly just as other's seemed to raise it. I'm not sure we can read that much into it, if it happens again next week then maybe.

Natalie certainly wasnt safe last week with that car-crash Samba but was saved out of pity. The voting public are very fickle and changeable week by week...

I refer to series 5....

Alesha in the DO in the QF with Letitia and Matt was saved after forgetting 2 of his dances.

In the SF, Alesha was sent through to the final and Matt was in the DO with Gethin despite getting a perfect 40....

I hope and pray that the majority of the voting public have the decency to vote for the best dancers/dancing as the finals approach. I agree that Ricky W should have been in the DO yesterday and Natalie certainly did but next week Ricky could deliver a stand out performance as normal and go through to the semis.

I agree with what you are saying, but I think 'decency' is a bit strong a word!

I must admit I struggled with my word placement in that sentence. Perhaps 'common sense' is better? Or not.

I cant help it, Im a dance purist! (I might get that printed on a t shirt)

Any televote is 'saying' something...but invariably it's not the kind of ridiculously simplistic interpretation that some people prefer to believe.

Well..

Considering that Ricky got the loudest reception by the audience of any couple, I'd say the "public" don't give a stuff about the paperazzi.
Ricky was judged on his performance last night, we've now reached that stage of the competition, that's why Natalie went.

I beg to differ.

Cola got the biggest reception, there was an ovation. Even Bruce commented on it.

Ricky's and Natalie's dances were the worst on the night which I'm sure had some bearing on the voting.

I can't see Ricky being in the DO next week because I think he will do two good dances.

I think that Doghouse Riley meant when he was introduced, not the reaction after his dance.

Feel feel to correct me if i'm wrong. But i've always felt the appluase when they come down the steps is canned. It has certainly never felt real to me anyway.

Cola got the bigger reception then as well. People seem to love them.

Of course, as with most studio recorded shows I expect boards are held up telling the audience to cheer, louder, more, etc., etc.

Cola got a huge reception for being Cola.
Ricky got a huge reception for doing to a paparazzo what most of us would love to.
